If your squirrel rimfire is light and handy, a light and handy scope compliments well. A 2-7X Leupold is great for most rimfires.

Flat nosed 300gr solid, monometal if you want to be picky. 300 grain AFrames. Don’t get more complicated than this. Done and dusted.

IMHO if you have a nice 416 Rigby and can shoot it well you’re half way there. Put a nice 1-6X Red Dot scope and now you have a one gun safari rifle. I recommend the Leupold VX6 1-6 Firedot, preferably an older one WITHOUT those damn turrets. EDIT: I saw you got a 1-5X. Good enough!

I have Steiner 10X50s Military Marine for hunting out of deer stands in the southeast USA. I also have Steiner 7X50s that are great for cat blinds in Africa. The 7X50s are so bright you can use them even at night most nights. They were a great comfort to me to have around my neck in a lion blind.

I’ve been very pleased with the Kevlar/Aramid composite B&C stocks. I wish they offered checkering. IMHO, fiberglass stocks are usually too heavy for anything but big bores or target/varmit type rifles.

VIPER FLEX or any good quad stick. Get the kind that pack down to fit in a suitcase. Not to open the whole “other things that can be in your rife case on an international air flight” can of worms, but I wouldn’t hesitate to pack shooting sticks in a rifle case if not connecting through Europe/UK.

That old VX3 1.5-5X20 is a workhorse. I would at least keep it for your 416 as a backup scope. I have one with a #4 Reticle prezeroed in Alaska Arms rings for a back up scope for my 9.3X62. As others have mentioned above, a 1-6X 30mm red dot scope from a quality maker is the logical step up...

See if that factory Barnes shoots in your new 270. If it does, you're good to go. If not try Accubonds or Accubond LRs in either weight. If you're worried about 130 vs 150 I'd say split the difference and shoot 140s but options may be limited with factory ammo. Game won't notice. I think...
