Recommendation for a good performing 9.3X62?

There are several good choices out there depending on how much you wish to spend. Ruger M77 MKII African, Zastava 70 (if you can find one), Mauser M12, and the Blaser R8 on the upper end. I'm missing others but they are out there. I shoot a Zastava left hand Mauser action. Was rough at first but after cleaning it up has become one of my favorite rifles. Excellent choice in caliber.

Keeping things strictly limited to currently manufactured choices, my recommendations are:
1) Voere Model 2165
2) Joh. Rigby & Co. Highland Stalker
3) Mauser M98 Diplomat
4) Zastava M70

The first three can be taken to the bush straight out of the box. The last one needs a little tuning up by a good gunsmith.

This is my favorite one.

I would look for a Mauser 98, which I believe was the action that first hosted the 9.3 X 62 round. Stout and pretty much fool proof.

To me, the first candidate would be a CZ 550. There are still some around. Their barrels are second to none and the action-magazine lenghts are significantly longer than the M98s in 9,3x62. For a handloader, a see this as an advantage, more so because the very long distance to the lands in the standard CIP 9,3 barrels. In my ZKK 600, esentialy the same action and magazine, I can load my cartridges at 87/88 mm OAL depending the bullet. This increase the case volume for some more 50 or even 100 f/s with some powders with entirely safe presures, aproaching the 9,3x64 performance, being all other factors the same.

For current, production rifles under $2K, Sako 85. A good custom rifle can be made at that price with a regular mauser 98 action.

I have the exact same rifle, bought it from a guy in TN, Greene Sporting Goods (all he imports are LH Zastavas, at least as far as I know), a number of years ago. Yes, they do need a little help from a gunsmith, but it's a shooter for certain.

Here are two Husqvarna Model 246s, one was done up nicely by G&H with sidemount and Lyman 48jws. Little research shows that 227 were made between 1937-1941 (before Nazis marched in ?). The other is factory except for the lyman 35 peep. I happen to have, also, a model 146 (also with a lyman 35), except it is marked only 9.3 on the barrel which I think indicates it was originally a 9.3x57. There were upwards of 100k made of the 146. The two 246s shown here have 3 digit serial numbers. I've only seen one other model 146 made up in the classic type A style, the rest have the front swivel in the wood, and of course there are thousands of rechambered 9.3x57s around - that are just as good from a shooting point of view, but you may want to ditch the original beechnut stocks (they give me hematomas). All, however, are made with beautiful fn actions (at least the pre-war and early post war ones). All mine have the classic soft rust blue finish and are untouched, i.e., no screw marks.

The other rifle is an older Brno zkk 600 with the pop up peep and barrel band swivel and factory installed mount with zeiss scope. I've only seen one - this one. I have heard on forums in NZ and Canada that they exist, but again have never seen a picture of one. I also had a ZG47 redone by Joe Smithson with Burgess mounts, but I sold it because it was a safe queen, but I mention it for completion. As a previous member mentioned, there are modern CZs in 9.3x62, and there are a few floating around that were done by the custom shop that had the pop up peep and barrel band swivel. Wayne at AHR has built a few with the original tooling that he acquired from the guy who did that work at the custom shop - if you are looking for a type A style rifle.
