My Remington 700s have almost always been a touch more accurate than Winchesters, but for a DG rifle, you’re not necessarily looking for 1/2 MOA accuracy. The control round feed is a primary safety device. Winchesters are very close in accuracy. So it’s not like they shoot badly at all!!!

I bought a Z3 3-10x42 and put it on my 7mm Mag. I’m initially very impressed!!! Pretty inexpensive at $800 too.

I think I’m going to put that scope on my Dakota in 416 Rem. I want the circle with the crosshairs. Looks like a great value and I like the fact that there’s no battery to worry about.

I think any caliber that can hurl a 400gr bullet and create in excess of 5000lbs of energy should be considered a big bore.

IMHO, I think small bores go up to .308, medium bores extend to sub .400, and above .400 rifles calibers are the base of big bores. A .416 Rigby/Rem. Mag have more energy than a .458WM.
