Would you like a Cigar?

Coronavirus be damned.

Down at the Cigar lounge, which is still open, but limited to 10 Patrons max.

So far, I am the only guy in here right now, hanging out with Johnny Walker.

Happy Friday!

Archetype - Sacred Scales

A boutique cigar by Ventura. Little pricey, at $10.75 for Robusto.

Still trying to figure out the flavors.

And a Happy Friday to you Brent!

I've been under lock down at home (self quarantine). Had to take my wife to the ER on Wed, and since she had an unexplained fever, she got tested for COVID19. So, to kill time while we wait for the results and since I can't go anywhere, I've been smoking quite a bit. This afternoon, I smoked an Undercrown by Drew State, and getting ready for number two. Great smoke, not too harsh, and lots of smoke.

@Browning325, I had a My Father The Judge a couple of days ago. The My Father line of cigars is fantastic.

It's Cuban cigar time

After 2 Scotches, and 2 cigars, I left the Cigar shop. Normally, it is a very busy, and somewhat raucous atmosphere on a late Friday afternoon. I was the only customer in the lounge. I guess everyone is laying low
Even Jacob, the Tobacconist, seemed nervous and edgy? I guess everyone is on edge lately.

Got home, and decided to fire up another.

Esteban Carrera-10 Anos.

First time I've had one. Decent Maduro.

Great smoke!

Things turn out o.k for the wife?

Brent, we are not sure yet. We are waiting to get a call from the CDC, the Doc said it would be at a min 3 days, and the 3 days is today Sat. If I don't hear anything, I have a number to call to check. Praying that is negative. Thank you for asking.

Hoping that the results are negative for her.
A tough 3 days of waiting no doubt.

Best wishes!

Thank you for your well wishes.

Called the hospital, and I was given the run around. I was given a number to call, and it's all automated, and no one on the other side to talk to. So, I called the hospital again, and this time the nurse on duty told that it could be up to 4 days to get the results, and she didn't know if the weekend play a role into getting the results back in 4 days or not. A bit frustrating, but I'll sit around the house and try to be patient while I wait.

Our best wishes are with you both, Brent.
You have got me fired up now, so going to light up and sip a single malt.

Gents,

As mentioned in my previous post, I've recently picked up a new humidor to cover my latest purchases. The downside is that it can theoretically hold 200 more cigars than it currently holds.

I have an excellent (if I do say so myself) collection of absolutely top draw Cubans at present, but little in the way of 'everyday' smokes. I'd also like to expand my horizons beyond Cuba. Anyone got any recommendations for longer, full bodied although not necessarily massive ring gauge smokes at a price point of less than £20 ($25ish) you'd recommend? Dominican, Nicaraguan, where ever really, although ideally something I can source in the UK.

Thanks for the help!
Al.

Ernesto's Finest (Naples, FL) is similar to a Arturo Fuente Anejo. Dark and somewhat oiled wrapper. Very earthy, woodsy, smooth, smooth, smooth right to the finish. Maybe a bit less pepper though. Huge voluminous smoke, even steady burn. Will try to post a picture shortly.

She is feeling a bit better, but we have not heard anything yet. Called the hospital, and got the runaround, until speaking to the head nurse. Apparently it’s taking more like 4 days to get the results. I’ll be calling tomorrow to check. Thank you for asking.
