Would you like a Cigar?

x2 many of the prior recommends, and here are My echos of agreement and some new ones;

A. Fuente Opus X - though I too have had underwhelming sticks, most were very nice.

A. Fuente Anejo - mmmmmm.

Davidoff Millenium

My Father - Jamie Garcia Reserve, Flor de las Antillas, (have to try The Judge it seems)

Don Pepin Garcia Blue

CAO la Traviata Maduro - a true gem and sleeper.

Ok, here’s one I normally keep to myself but we are a special band of brothers. Soooo..... If you get down to Naples Florida, stop in at Freedom Cigar and ask for a little known locally rolled treasure known as Ernesto’s Finest. Without a doubt the best $25 torpedo stick you can buy but it’s something like $8-$9. Let them age in your humidor for a few months and you mail order them in bulk. (Tell Randall I sent you - he’s a fine man, soldier and patriot)

Carlos Torano - Exodus 1959

Earned a 92 point rating, as well as top 25 Cigar of the year honors.

Flavor notes of Cocoa, Earthy nuttiness, and a hint of Berry sweetness.

Good smoke, going nicely with a Guiness Extra Stout.View attachment 333156

I love the Exodus 1959 line. A couple years ago, I got a deal on 200 Exodus 1959 box pressed robustos. I'm down to the last 10 now.

A question for my fellow enthusiasts. Have you ever tried any of the Padilla blends?

I've had them a while back. They were good med-full bodied cigars, made in Nicaragua. I have not tried them recently.

I had a Montecristo Nicaragua Series. Great med bodied smoke, a bit spicy at first, but mellowed out after about an inch or so. Burned evenly and was good until the last bit of cigar. Not an overpowering cigar which a novice smoker would like. Not a bad afternoon cigar. I need to get more. :)

I was curious about them, because CI has a great deal on boxes of the Padilla Cazadores.

Life isn't fair sometimes. I'm sick again.
This makes the third time in the last 3.5 months. Chest cold-flu-chest cold. Shit!

That's not stopping me from enjoying this 5 Vegas -A series, in box press Robusto.

Toasty earth, Coffee, and some subtle flavors I can't identify right now.

Waahing it down with a Guiness Extra Stout.

After 3 days of rainy weather, it's a magnificent day in Tucson.

Beer & BBQ time. Coronavirus be damned.

Rocky Patel decade 10th Anniversary, in box pressed robusto.

Great little smoke, with a 95 rating. Has some similar flavor notes of the Torano Exodus, albeit, a little smoother.

That's a great little smoke!

Came across a youtube video of the Cigars International warehouse, and order processing center. Quite impressive. They process 8-12 thousand orders per day. Sales have increased since they bought Thompson Cigars 2 years ago.

I have about 2 months worth of Cigars in the humidors. With this Virus panic, I was thinking about putting in another big order.

Just in case......Cigars go the route of toilet paper.

So just for fun how many cigars does everyone have?

I just looked and I have 265.

I only smoke around five per week, so that is somewhere around a year's worth for me, but probably 20 are junk that I'd literally only smoke if nothing else was there. They are some I bought cheap (like under $1 per stick) when I very first got back into it. As long as there is room in the humidor I don't throw them out though.

Right now I have about 80. I smoke about 10 per week on average. Mostly on weekends.
I usually purchase 2 months worth at a time. When I'm starting to run low, I will put in another order. That doesn't include my occasional purchase at the local shop.

I buy just one box of 25 at a time and reorder when I have a week's worth left. I was in Dallas recently for a function at the Hard 8 BBQ between The Colony and Plano and noticed Cigars International just next door but didn't have time to drop in. But I've gone back to ordering from RJ Cigar, anyway.

I believe I have anywhere between 250-300 cigars. I think I'm good for a bit. :)

The Cigar manufacturers have hundreds of people working for them. As many as 100 or more cigar rollers in 1 or more rooms. I'm wondering if this virus will shut any of that down, and what that would do to the global market?
I can do without them, but it is something I look forward to for a little relaxing "me" time.

Edit....6 to 10 cigars per week on average.

interesting you said that. I wonder too, and these people are side by side making cigars. For sure they have no medical service at the farms.

Mine is Habana Haupman, half corona. Sitting around the fire here in Zimbabwe with a good Scotch. Take a few in the pouch on a hunt, nothing like a cigar while a beautiful antelope is being loaded into the Landy. Our little private club is called Carruthers and Co, just right for these hunts.

So what does Ernesto’s Finest compare to? Not that I will be traveling any time soon, but who knows where business might take me if Covid-19 don’t get me.
