There are no new battery operated Omega's these days. All Omega specific mechanical movements. They did make a few entry level quartz models in the 90's though.Shako: Gotta disagree here, OMEGA is battery operated and while much more accurate keeping time - Rolex is known for “Flashy” - where I worked in Manhattan you could always tell when someone got promoted - a Rolex with Stainless & Gold band soon followed…We use to call it the “New District Manager” watch. I believe they are very well crafted quality watches but too flashy for me (Yes, I have an OMEGA)
I'd agree that Rolex is more flashy, or at least more recognizable for the most part.
 Guess I'm still a working class guy at heart.  Because my dad was.  And his dad before him.
