Politics

One thing from the article quoted below. Call me a sceptic, but I do not think USA is capable of a change in a mindset at this point. We have people from the right already calling what's happening a misinformation campaign from "a corrupt Ukraine government that is the West's puppet" and of course the left saying the only reason people care about Ukraine is because they are White.

We are way too polarized to make any sensible decisions long term.

Heck, Biden administration going to Venezuela, Iran etc. to beg for oil rather than removing the road blocks that were thrown on our own energy industry shows the ideological blindness.
Sadly true.

It's amusing to hear some politicians/commentators talk about how "history" will review their actions- yet ignoring the concept that if things go bad and a nuclear exchange occurs there will be quite a wait before the next article is written about the events.

One day their self-confidence will prove to be misguided.

So..what about selling Ukraine lets say MLRS batteries..? With hard hitting cluster munition..?

SITREP (Situation Report) March 7, 2002
Update March 8, 2022 early am
...
Things to watch for this week at the geopolitical level:
...
  • Do the EU/US ramp up sanctions to highest level, stop purchasing gas and oil from Russia, and prohibit energy transactions on SWIFT system?
...

Oil imports from Russia have typically represented 3% to 10% of US oil imports. Last year, 2021, the US imported 245 million barrels, approximately 672,000 barrels per day from Russia, approximately 8% of US oil imports.

Banning gas imports is going to be a lot more difficult for European countries as Russian gas represents typically 45% of European gas imports.

It is already stopped. Beginning to wonder if it isn't more like an open air prison camp where the Ukrainians have no responsibility to mind the inmates.

I digress. Were it real mission for the US, because it is Russian with Russian AD systems, we would be striking it from 30,000 feet with JDAMS with as long a slant range as we could generate .... after a wave of ARM strikes.

Statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, regarding the statement made by the US Secretary of state, on the transfer of aircraft to Ukraine

The authorities of the Republic of Poland, following consultation between the President and the Government, remain ready to immediately and free of charge move all of its MiG-29 aircraft to the Ramstein Airbase, and place them at the disposal of the government of the United States of America.

At the same time Poland asks the United States government to supply it with used aircraft of analogous operational capabilities. Poland remains ready to immediately arrange the conditions for procurement of those aircraft.

The Polish government also asks other NATO member states – owning the MiG-29 jets – to undertake action of similar nature.

I guess DOD is waiting for Biden to wake up from his afternoon nap and come up with a response.

Is there something like Carvana but for used aircraft? Migvana???

With fuel prices going stratospheric, the greenies are salivating. Unfortunately, not everyone has the financial wherewithal to afford electric vehicles.

Electricity prices will follow shortly. Our electrical grid is primarily fueled by hydrocarbons. The left wing nutbars appear to think that fairies do it.

I think this is a pretty skillful job of kicking Anthony Blinken's "Polish sovereign decision" comment far and deep into his and the US's court.

Did not mean to post that, because there is not much point continuing to debate the infamous 40 mile convoy, we each made our point :V Sword Fight:
No need to :S Beat Dead Horse: right? since only "wait and see" will answer the question...

But since you are twisting my arm :E Rofl:

So........... Ukrainians themselves are reporting that:

So what? Right?

Well, I am of a curious nature, and a quick look at a map shows something interesting. It just happens that:

1- Katyuzhanka, Borodyanka and Gavronshchina are located at the beginning, middle and end of said 40 mile convoy (in light blue in below map);

2- Katyuzhanka, Borodyanka and Gavronshchina are located on, or near, P02, E373 and E40, as well as T1011.

Now why would the Russians build "field logistics camps" along the 40 miles convoy, on each of the three main arteries to Kyiv ???

Pure coincidence I guess...

But I too digress ;)

Agreed. A couple squadrons of B1Bs would be my recipe, or even an old-style wing or three of B52s, assuming air defenses are indeed taken out by Wild Weasels :)

I assume because they couldn't figure out how to protect, fuel, or supply the stalled attack any other way. Mobile warfare is really hard.

Looks more like Leningrad every day.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
