And, by the way, I don't call people morons or idiots for disagreeing with me unless some action that they took was actually representative of being a moron or idiot, and voting based on emotion rather than information is moronic.
My apologies I was attempting to speak to the general population of this thread. Especially, those who have used far more derogatory language. I was not meaning to include you. Alas, I am not the word smith as others can be when it comes to explaining my ideas.

In all seriousness, how many of your players were the kids with blue hair? I imagine not many came out to play football..

I did have one of my defensive tackles come to school wearing a teenage mutant ninja back pack and eyeliner. He has also played the tuba in the band. I also watched him make a Division 1 prospect Offensive lineman not look very good in a playoff game.

That, combined with affirmative action practices that are designed specifically to check boxes has failed miserably.
Even in liberal Austin, TX you better win football games if you want to keep your job. The community will tolerate more pressure for wins.

"new way"
For me it is about taking time to explain to the players why they were going to be coached hard. Why excellence was going to be asked of them. I would explain that on Friday night the guys on the other side line were going to hit them in the mouth. The coaches’ on the other side line were going to make them look slow and silly. I would explain to them that my job was to simulate that process on practice days. They would understand that to simulate this process when they made mistakes they would do bear crawls, frog jumps, burpees etc. When they understood the reasons they were fine with the intensity and so were their parents. At the end of practice there were hugs and encouraging words for those who had a bad day.

I am not talking about getting the hardcore special interest group people to change sides. I am talking about the individuals that think by voting democrat that they are helping the underprivileged. If these people are “low level intelligence” then we need to help educate them. The democrats are beating us at that game. It’s hard to win these day running a Wing-T offense, regardless of how much I like that offense.

It seems to me that there’s a huge swath of voters in America that feel left behind by the polarization happening on both sides of the spectrum, and whoever can capture the centrists will win.

Other things aside, I view the situation as almost hopeless for the future. If under current circumstances and leadership, with almost all the polls showing a red wave, and 75% of Americans polling that the country is going in the wrong direction, and this is what we end up with?

What happened to those folks? This should have been a tsunami and all we got was a ripple in the pool.

I see this as a bad harbinger of things to come. The average American voter is lost to us and from now on it will be a real struggle to ever get back real control of either House or Senate and the WH.

I have lost my confidence that the voters will ever as a whole wise up. In short, we are doomed to failure from this point forward. Its only going to get worse.

Grim outlook, but thats how I see it.
Not entirely lost to us. I would simply again note DeSantis carried Florida by almost twenty points. He carried every major voting block except African Americans and did well with them. He even carried suburban women. He was opposed by every major newspaper in the state, and yet he carried Miami Dade. His message was on point, his accomplishments are real, and he handles the media superbly. He did it in spite of Trump resorting to calling him names. He also won't be nearly eighty years old in '24.

Presented without commentary. A man of integrity can speak for himself.

No apology is ever necessary.. I didn't think that your reference was directly at me per se.. And, even if it was, you can call me anything you like. I am un-offendable, and I will not melt. ;)

In regard to the "new way" I hear you and respect that you are willing to try. I simply see it differently in that I feel no obligation nor advantage in promoting or buying into this softer culture we have allowed to bloom in this country which I firmly believe is the source of so many of our cultural and moral problems of the day.

Hopeless? Maybe. We won’t know for sure unless we try a different approach. In my lifetime, I’ve seen a strong, persuasive, conservative leader with rock-solid values beat the leftists. Not one of his successors have even tried to replicate his approach. We can continue doing what we’ve been doing or try something different. Blaming people for not buying what you’re selling is a recipe for defeat. It‘s time to decide.
And Reagan battled for it, every day for 30 years. He lost the 1976 Primary to Gerald Ford, causing a split in the party greater than any time in any of our lifetimes. 1980 he took the nomination with ZERO support from establishment republicans like the Bush's or Ford's. Even his vice president wasn't a true believer in Reagan's policies, Bush was chosen only to unify the party.

The media HATED Reagan and lied about him and his agenda for two decades. They did everything they could to destroy him and they failed. They did everything they could to destroy Trump and they have succeeded. In my lifetime, only two republicans had the spine to stand up to the democrat media and not waiver. One, you want to emulate, the other you hate. I don't think you appreciate how similar their goals were.

Once Trump is gone, the media will turn their claws onto any republican that dares get in the way of a democrat led progressive agenda. Until then, they will continue to play most republicans like a

As I noted earlier, what happened here is a direct result of ignorance and stupidity among a large segment of the voting public.
Do you see that changing anytime soon? If so where is the evidence?
I sure dont see any.
Landslides in one state are great but there are 50 states or 54 if you think like Biden!

The PA Sec of State reports votes as either mail in or day of election. I studied the Fetterman-Oz race and something just doesn’t pass the smell test. Fetterman had 880k mail in votes to Oz’s 215k or a roughly 4-1 ratio. On the day of the election, Oz got 45k more votes than Fetterman. What are the odds of having a 4 to 1 advantage in mail in votes? That is, without fraud.

Reagan was eloquent and presidential. He handled the press with ease. Sam Donaldson, his toughest combatant (ABC News), admired and respected him. Reagan never engaged in a personal fight with anyone - regardless of party. And famously never spoke bad of a Republican. If Trump had one tenth Reagan's grace, presence, and common sense he would be president right now.

And yes, because of his lack of presidential and leadership qualities, history will remember him very differently than Reagan whatever his accomplishments.

What is surprising? It is like that in virtually every state with extended mail in voting. There is absolutely nothing going on except Democrats have a superb ground game that takes advantage of the opportunity, and Republicans seem content to try and depend upon election day turn out. It happened two years ago and happened again yesterday. Many states report party totals as they are turned in so that the process is transparent. I have no idea what Pennsylvania does.

Of course it won't change. It never has. Andrew Jackson hardly road an intellectual wave to the Whitehouse. He harnessed the power of very common people. We better figure out how to reach all those ignorant stupid people as well or we will continue to lose.

I am simply saying, that the DeSantis election effort figured out how to do that in one of the largest and most diverse states in the Union. Maybe, instead of bemoaning our ignorant fellow travelers, we ought to figure out the DeSantis team's strategy and get meaning proportion of those ignoramuses voting our way.

Agreed, but I personally still need a couple of days to bemoan.. It's a process I have to go through to maintain sanity..

Some of you will not get this. I apologize in advance..;)

OK, you figure it out and let me know...

I have it figured out. Elect me for President and I'll pay off $10K for everyone with a mortgage. $20K if you'll buy an EV also. Same deal if your a renter. But there's MORE! You'll also get an IPhone 14 AND a 6.5 Creedmoor if you get solar panels on your house. LOL It's kinda funny, but I see us becoming a nation of "takers", especially many of the younger generation. "Ask not what I can do for my country, but rather, what freebies can my country give to me so I don't have to work for a living"- Democrats. Simple.

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
