I look forward to informed minds communicating the possible outcomes of U.S. soldiers dying in that attack in Jordan today.
Biden will bomb empty (of people) warehouses once again hoping not to escalate responses. Not that it helps.

What good is carrying the biggest stick in the world if everyone knows it won't be used?

I’m curious what, if any, response comes from Jordan…

While it was US trips that were killed.. the attack was on Jordanian soil.. and the Jordanians aren’t known for being super tolerant of Palestinian antics..

While at the same time, there are a significant number of Palestinians living in Jordan.. so the king will likely want to measure his response (if any)..

On one hand he needs to make it clear that he is in charge.. not the Palestinians..

On the other hand he really doesn’t need a million plus Palestinians living in Jordan becoming a huge problem overnight to have to deal with..

The king is in a very difficult position..

If ever there were a need for cool heads it is now. Hamas is in the throes of being degraded and despite utterences to the contrary the objective thereafter is a political solution, be it two state or some variant. Many are keen to disrupt that, they have to be kept at bay. One battle at a time.

What I would like to see is all US troops in the region pulled out.

Not sure what that would accomplish. Biden pulled troops out of Afghanistan and we all know how that went.

A prior king, seemed to take care of the prior Palestinian problem in Jordan. I am sure if necessary the new King can too.

One thing none of the environmental wackos mention is nuclear power, reliable with no carbon footprint. Of course, it does not funnel funds to the green movement.
Yes, nuclear power is the only solution IMHO if the goal is to eliminate the carbon footprint while creating massive amounts of clean energy. I've read where at least one company has developed a small nuclear reactor that fits inside idled coal fired power plants. Wind and solar generated electricity have major drawbacks in relation to weather conditions and the currently available battery storage capacities. Not to mention they are a major environmental disaster looming on the horizon when their useful energy producing life ends. Much of it ends up illegally in landfills because of the expense and lack of companies available (or willing) to recycle the toxic waste. Even the left wing documentary producer Michael Moore said as much when he was investigating the "benefits" of those green energy technologies. Crickets from the environmental radicals and he was basically blackballed even though he's one of their own. The Marxists have an agenda for our country and the World and won't stop at anything to achieve their goals. They want a new One World Order and the radical environmentalists are part of that world.

The Taliban were going to take over the country or at least play a major role in the governance regardless of how long the US stayed. The withdrawal would've essentially looked the same regardless of who was president, aside from potentially saving the lives of the 13 that were killed by the ISIS suicide bomber because we didn't leave faster.
On a side note, Heroin production in the country has been almost eliminated. The Taliban have also cracked down on Bacha Basi practices (death penalty) unlike when the country's police chiefs ran their own rings throughout the country with the US turning a blind eye to it.

I believe that is hugely naive.
The Navy can sit off the coast and do what they want, I don't have a major issue with that. The guys in Syria and Iraq are sitting ducks in a place getting worse by the day. Keeping them there right now is a COP Keating move, but perhaps that's what some people want, so they can have their war with Iran.

Don't take this as "Pro-Taliban", the simple fact is the Taliban were always more popular among the population of Afghanistan than we like to admit, and the ANA and GIRoA were always more corrupt than we like to admit.

We should never have been in Afghanistan for more than 24 months. Of course it is a central Asian rather than Middle East country. Our enemy was Al Qaeda, not the Taliban. If the majority of the population is content living in medieval despotism, enjoy. Were we likely to eventually return? Probably, but that would have been better staying for two decades.

You’re forgetting all the Americans and allies we left stranded there. A proper withdrawal would have gotten all of our citizens and supporters out. No way Biden gets a pass on that crap show and no way you can convince me it had to go down that way.

Every time you pull out from a theater you create a void which will be filled with bad guys.
Like it or not we're the defacto sheriff of the World.

I'll bet the women/girls living in Asscrackistan would disagree with your assessment with the popularity of the Taliban. They've gone from having a chance to prosper through education and some enhanced liberties when we were there to back living in the stone age where their status in society is only slightly better than a stray dog.

I'm sure you you now where that base is.
Although it's technically in Jordan it's almost in Syria and this was not a surprise.

As for Afghanistan,

Going from not loosing a service member for 18months to the loss of life in our withdrawal I believe was at the very least a national embarrassment; but I wasn’t there.

This Marine had a front row seat though and I believe Every American should know his account of what happened.

Also Sarah Adams a CIA targeting analyst claims that we had the suicide bomber used in that attack in custody after he was caught in India trying to pull off an attack, until we pulled out and he was liberated from prison and thus used to commit the bombing.

I'm just worried about those sunspots interfering with my XM radio and cell phone coverage. The rest of the hoopla about the earth's climate is just manufactured drama, noise and money making schemes. Now, where can I buy some of those carbon credits? Haven't seen them at Walmart yet. Can I redeem them like Bitcoin?

You can buy and sell carbon credits, if you talk to any of the solar panels companies one of the perks is you get "credits" you can sell on the open market. I forget the site they told me, but it is here and it is happening.

A leftover remnant of the Syrian Civil War, a mistake that should've been closed down a long time ago.
