Ah, free enterprise, folks. Whatever it takes to make a buck, however stupid and unseemly. To me, it's demeaning to one who once was a great force in this country. I have to question the motive.
Boomer, I feel the same way about it personally. Trump took a thousand arrows for me, for you, for the American people. He was absolutely an historic figure and a great force in this country. He had what no republican had since Reagan, a backbone, and it never bent or broke. How fast it was all forgotten by the average republican.
The assumption that the next republican will be equally strong yet with a softer, more presidential disposition, is irrational. What are the odds? Twice in the last 100 years, those are the odds of having a republican that can stand firm for his voters, for his country.
We’ll see how DeSantis does after they bloody him up nationally. After years of relentless attacks on his character, family and friends. After EPA, IRS, FBI and blue state investigations into everyone he knows, and everything he ever accomplished. He’ll learn there are two types of republicans. Those prone to believe lies if he doesn’t fight back, and those who think it’s unpresidential to fight back. That’s a tough nut to crack.
All along, DeSantis will know that to make the attacks, criminal prosecutions and misery stop: all he has to do is bend his knee, go against his voters, and let the uniparty succeed. Assumption that DeSantis can stand strong throughout? It’s just that, assumption.
Something does seem off with Trump
Maybe 7 years of attacks have finally taken a toll?
Has anger overwhelmed him?
Maybe it’s part of a plan?
Maybe he needs the cash to defend corrupt lawsuits and a corrupt DOJ while the Republican party does nothing to help?
Maybe he needs to get back to making money?
He is Trump after all. He has not changed in 40 years, even after being president. And why should he. Fake people suck.
Establishment republicans like McConnel and Paul Ryan allowed the FBI/DOJ‘s Russia hoax to proceed years longer than neccessary. This was a tool of control for both parties, for the uniparty. It limited Trump greatly. It controlled who he could hire and who he could appoint. Unlike presidents before him, he never had full presidential authority at the Department of Justice or any of its corrupt agencies. This treachery was not possible without republicans. The dirty little secret is the republican establishment hates Trump more then the democrats, and they always have. Trump was a bigger treat to republican fiefdoms than to anyone at the DNC.
According to most republicans, Trump is now dead, so forward to DeSantis. This will last until DeSantis can't win corrupt states like Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania and loses as a result. At that point they'll abandon him too, just like they have done to Trump, Kari Lake, etc. Allow the opponent to stack the deck for 20 years and then act disappointed with anybody who can't win.
We're supposed to pick Martha up and take her to the polls a month before the election. That will get a win. We are 20 years behind the corruption curve and now we're told we have to play their game? We have access to as many voters. We don't have access to as many ballots.
Let's ignore the millions of bogus registrations they have at their disposal. Obama and congress gave billions of dollars to ACORN which funded project vote. A massive, nationwide voter registration drive that saw nearly 100 ACORN staff prosecuted in states for voter fraud. Yet they were protected by the Obama DOJ, and they still are. Did anyone really think the left spent billions of dollars on bogus registrations for no particular reason? The reason? States like Arizona. If you didn’t see it in 2020 or 2022, you’re blind.
