Agreed. Ronald Reagan first proposed welfare work requirements at a Governors convention in 1967. It was voted down 49-1. It took 29 years of constant, dedicated messaging to finally get the heart of Reagan's idea passed through congress.

The successful 1996 Welfare Reform Act was one of the first targets of the Obama administration. Neutered first by various stimulus bills in 2009. It was repealed completely by Obama in 2012.
And the real head scratcher was that Clinton signed the 1996 WRA. My how times have changed. The current crop of Dems would IMPEACH a President for signing such a bill….whether he was one of them or not. Obama couldn’t wait to write it out of law. Put to a vote of the people I think a work requirement would pass easily.

I wouldn't give NYC or any of the other left wing "sanctuary cities" a DIME for the situation with the migrants that they were complicit with in creating this disaster. I hope the incoming Republican House votes against any taxpayer funding for this fiasco. It's ironic that the migrants haven't sought "asylum" from ALL the countries they passed through before getting to the US border. That alone, in and of itself, should preclude them legally from requesting asylum in the US. This entire nightmare rests solely on Brandon's incompetence as a leader.
Right on all points! It’s amazing how these left-wing politicians can do backflips. An open border is an essential humanitarian policy until their cities are inconvenienced. And lets admit it, 1,000 immigrants a week is a mere inconvenience to NYC in comparison to the disaster 2,300 a DAY represents in El Paso. And today Harris says the border disaster is the Republicans fault! The gall! The only way one can make a statement like that is to assume everyone in America is as big a moron as her boss!

One of these photo contrasts that tends to say a lot to a old soldier like myself.

Today both Zelensky and Putin held an awards ceremony. Zelensky went to Bakhmut on the front lines in Eastern Ukraine to recognize the sacrifice of the Ukrainian forces fighting there, to present awards to the most heroic, and to thank them for their bravery and service to their country. Incoming artillery fire provided interesting background sound. During the entirety of his stay he was well within the range fans of nearly every weapon system bigger than a Makarov handgun in the Russian Army.

Meanwhile, Putin was also holding an awards ceremony for some of his favorite sycophants including the director of the RT television network.

Sadly, I doubt that Tucker Carlson will report on it.

Quite a contrast!

Same here. Anyone with more than a couple of brain cells to rub together, has zero trust in most politicians, swamp creatures and deep state bureaucrats. Looks like not only the MSM, DNC, DOJ, among others, were/are up to their eyeballs in TDS and anti-consecrative propaganda and brainwashing but looks like even the DOD/Pentagon got in on the act! If the Twitter Files paint me a conspiracy theorist then I are one, proudly. And to think It took a South African to shine the light of absolute, hard fact truth..... Yet it is still being ignored and denied. Also proves the axiom- "easy to brainwash, impossible to admit same".

All of us make the error of thinking that politicians, and our governance in general, is going to hell in a hand basket. Politics and politicians have NEVER been completely trustworthy. I’d bet that we’d be equally horrified if we could transport ourselves back in time and observe the founders as they crafted our constitution. The true beauty of our constitutional republic is the limits it places on our leaders. They need to be constrained because they are like all men, corruptible. We need better men, but that’s not going to cut it because there aren’t enough truly trustworthy men out there. We need to preserve the system that limits their power.

They are on a par with the most light fingered , corrupt African presidents and politicians.....
Except a bit more shameless.

Unfortunately, no piece of paper is going to constrain venal men. The populace needs to wake up. That's what will make things better.

Completely agree.

Congress used to have an 85% turnover rate per election cycle. The founders never envisioned these peons carving out their own little kingdoms. You want to get rich quick, with no invention or creativity? Get elected.

A MAGA agenda would theoretically cost china TRILLIONS of dollars. With that in mind, is there any price to high to bribe the right congressman or senator? Absolutely not. That is why it's an America last agenda. That is why it will continue to be an America last agenda. America first doesn't make politicians rich.

Term Limits. One person, one term. It will never be allowed to happen.

I agree. It’s the system (that the paper codified) that has to be constantly defended.

Though one of the founding authors was quoted as saying "Bind them down with chains (of the constitution)." One thing for sure--they thought men were sinful by nature and not to be trusted with power. We just don't enforce the law they entrusted to us.

When you get $45B in the omnibus spending packet yesterday but show up in Washington today to say it isn't enough and you need more.

Use some of that $45B to cover the cost of a dozen used F16s and some spare parts and let’s bring this war to a close.

Notice how much air time has been spent covering the metro boy with the hyphenated last name and the collapse of the faux currency FTX exchange. Personally, I couldn't give a rat's ass about FTX. To me that looks like, "ok uninformed masses, follow this shiny object here and nothing to see over there". In the mean time the Kentucky turtle is at it again. He must really be bringing home the pork for Kentucky!

Yes, ultimately, we are the enforcers of limited government. Too many have fallen for the lie that a powerful government can be a force for good. The best case, for us, of a too-powerful government is a government filled with brigands; and the worst is a government filled with brigands and murderers.
