Overpriced Reloading Components?

Aww, quit your bellyachin. Bought two boxes yesterday and was happy to get them.

To be clear, the guy from Federal wasn't saying that they make primers for Winchester, Remington and CCI- correct?

The two major players in the primer market are Olin (Winchester) and Vista Outdoor (Remington, CCI and Federal)

I saw H110 at a gun shop in PA yesterday and a week ago in another PA gun shop, IIRC, it was 39.95 a lb.
@Hogpatrol
Any fast powders be they rifle or shotgun fall into the unobtainuum bracket in Australia . Any thing quicker than 2207/H4198 we can't get. It's hurting a lot of people. I have 2#of 2205/H4227 after that's gone in stuffed for powder for my Hornet

Seeing that 28 Nosler brass reminded me; if anybody is in need of 9.3x74R brass, go to Nosler.com. On sale for $32.95/25 and in stock. Only brass I've seen cheaper is PPU, and it's not on any shelves right now

A buddy of mine once got in a silent bidding war on a $30 set of grilling tools. He ended up paying $350 for them.........but in his words, "I beat the other SOB!!!!" I've been watching this happen on GB everyday on every 45/70 lever guns I am watching. Auctions almost always get the most possible money for something especially if it has a big audience.

Yes, I've seen this too on GB. The "end" becomes less important than the "means" ("beating that SOB!") in the auction. It's absolutely ludicrous!

It's known as auction fever. Effects people of all walks, in every type of market. I've even seen some rather seasoned cattle buyers get infected occasionally. There's a sense of urgency and competition that auctions and auctioneers encourage and definitely take advantage of. Buyers need to set their limit and stick to it, but then the auction isn't as fun! Especially for the seller!

Auction fever is why they serve dinner and DRINKS before the auction at all those conservation banquets we spend our dollars to attend.
inflation is a monster-bacon and eggs doubled in price, milk up a buck a gallon, price of gasoline etc etc

Here’s an ammo bargain! Too bad they didn’t have any in stock? Twilight Zone!

416 Rigby prices for 338 WinMag… ouch!

Shopping for 416 Rem, I have found that an inversion has happened (supply/demand driven):

Barnes Vor-TX is now almost half the price of Nosler Partitions. o_O

It seems that all non-military round prices are being sent into the stratosphere.

Meanwhile, powder/primers have gone the way of Pappy 23. (like paying $50 for a cup of Folgers Coffee).

I've been wanting to try some Reloder 23 and Varget, but I believe I am going to pass on these deals. I actually sent the seller a question, "Price check on Aisle 4."

It is a "placeholder" sale. Keeps the seller from having to recreate everything when they actually have some to sell.

I visited an old gun shop today that is closing down. They had boxes of 9.3 x 64 brass (new RWS). They also had 404 Jeff but I think most is once fired (or more). I believe they will be out of business by May 1. Let me know if you need contact info.

If we had a contest here for the member who posts an ad from somewhere with the most ridiculous pricing on ammo/reloading components, you would have won hands down!

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
