I don't think I even want to know what that is.Pickleball?
I can only speak of what we see on tv in Australia.
Yes the c.f. USA is a mess at the moment but then again it was under uncle Donald.
One thing Trump did was stand up t o China and North Korea but he seemed to discount the China flu with some snake oil remedies.
Biden has fulfilled his promise twice over with the vaccination.
There have been 187 mass shootings in the U.S. since t h e start of the year.
NO one will ever convince me you need a 20 or 30 shot mags capacity to hunt with or protect your home
The number of police shooting in the USA of a high percentage of African Americans compare to other is wrong and police forces need to be held accountable.
Sadly Bob, you have fallen prey to much of what so many here have done: listening to the lame stream media, who hated Trump and love Uncle Joe, because Trump was America first, and Joe and the libtards are America last.I can only speak of what we see on tv in Australia.

Biden has fulfilled his promise twice over with the vaccination. Something our gov't is stuffing up.
Trump banned bump stock and some other things.
There have been 187 mass shootings in the U.S. since t h e start of the year. Surely we as firearms owner should be concerned about as they are members of someone's family. Surely some form of legislation could be put in place like striker screening and smaller capacity magazines. NO one will ever convince me you need a 20 or 30 shot mags capacity to hunt with or protect your home.
Your second amendment gives you the right to bear armsBUT it doesn't say what type. Any government can say you can't have this or that and make them illegal. They can tell you what arms you can have without breaching the 2nd because you will still be able to be armed.
Racism is rampant world wide both overtly and covertly and is something that will never be eradicated. The number of police shooting in the USA of a high percentage of African Americans compare to other is wrong and police forces need to be held accountable. In Australia we had a royal commission into Aboriginal deaths in custody and nothing has really changed there is still an improportionate number of Aboriginal people in custody.
A joke that still goes around in police station when Aboriginal people are placed in cells is they are going to put wardrobes in the cells to give the black pricks more hanging space. NO appropriate or funny. We are trying to break this type of mentality but when it is multi generationally ingrained it is hard to change.
Yes something needs to be done but where do we start. Not by slinging shit at another's beliefs is a good start.
Fortunately in Australia we have independent Pollies that keep the bastard honest. That why I vote for the Shooter, fishers and Farmers party.
Sorry for the rant but the world is bad enough at the moment.
Bob
You are either a complete idiot and hypocrite, or a troll. Maybe both. This, coupled with some of your posts in other threads, make these two options the only logical alternatives.Respectfully, I could not disagree more. This is a man who commands the room both in a carasmatic and humbling way (unlike the previous 2 presidents). When he speaks, he speaks to Joe Sixpack because that (despite his law degree and millionaire status) is fundamentally who he is. There is a lot to debate about; and we can have that debate. However,, he is a man who cares about America, and he deeply cares about the people of this country whether they voted for him or not.
Regardless - as anchor Brian Williams just said, "no one shouted 'you lie' and no one ripped up the speech, so we will take that as a win in the past 20 years"
I think it's an old Australian sport? Ask one of the OZ boys about it.I don't think I even want to know what that is.
Just go to a gun shop and look at the ammo price gains. You'll feel like your the CEO of Sierra bullets? Nevermind, there isn't any ammo to look at. Ha! Ha! Ha!Buy Tips and I- bonds before the government quits issuing them. Inflation may be coming. Just go to the lumber yard or look at grain prices. Boy them soybeans are at 15.00 a bushel. I feel like an Arab in a gas station
Tell him they're coming! There is a delay with the Chinese cargo ship delivering them, as they got stuck in the Suez Canal? Patience! My brother in law opened a restaurant and he says there's a shortage of chicken wings.
Awesome post! This statement alone sets the theme for your post... Apparently, your televised media is limited to sources such as CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of the liberal propaganda generators? That explains the misinformation that you must have used to form your opinions, so I will spare the detailed rebuttal and stick to the highlights.
What are you referring to specifically? What in your view was a mess under Trump?
Trump "discounted" the virus to the extent that he imposed a travel ban from China on January 31, 2020, and subsequently the entirety of the EU under the intense scrutiny of the democrats and his political rivals only to be hailed as a racist and xenophobe for doing so. In hindsight , we now realize that this move alone likely saved tens of thousands of American lives.
What snake oil remedies are you referring to? I hope it's not the "injecting bleach lie" that the left propagated so successfully? You do realize that was all bullshit made up by the left? I also hope it's not Trump's support of hydroxichloriquine which has since been proven in multiple global trials to be extremely helpful when introduced early on in the contraction of the virus. The regime of hydroxychloroquine, zinc, Vitamin D, and azithromycin remains one of the most popular and successful pre-hospital regiments in treating covid around the USA as well as in many European countries.
Please help me out here...? What promises has Biden fulfilled in regard to the vaccines? He is in autopilot from Trump's Project Warp Speed. All he has to do is try not to crash the whole thing into the ground.
This is BS.. Can you please provide the source for this statistic, and please don't say you heard it on CNN..?
Violent crime and gun crime in particular the USA has actually been on a 30-year downtrend even inclusive of the summer of riots across the USA in 2020. Sadly, during this period, black on black crime has historically accounted for an average of over 80% of these violent crimes committed in the USA.
It is estimated that 46% of the US population owns nearly 400 million guns and billions of rounds of ammunition. The states with the strictest gun laws have the most crime, while the states with the most freedoms of legal gun ownership along with open and concealed carry laws have the least crime... If guns themselves were the problem, you would know it. The USA has a cultural problem that directly dictates the crime problem.
Our 2nd Amendment is not about our right to hunt and never was... This is another bullshit narrative being perpetuated by those who have no knowledge about firearms or the true intent of the 2nd Amendment. It is about the right of the people to defend themselves against each other as well as a tyrannical government.
30 round mags are certainly not unreasonable for the purpose of self defense when those who intend to do you or your family harm have similar capability. I wish we lived in world where a shotgun loaded with rock salt was all that was needed to defend our homes and property, but that is no longer the reality.
Sorry but this is complete and total bullshit.! This is THE most false, divisive, and damaging narrative in the USA today being propagated by the left. The REAL STATISTCS show that police shoot white suspects at a rate 2.5 times more than black suspects. Furthermore, as mentioned previously, blacks commit a disproportionate amount of violent crimes compared to all other racial demographics in the USA... Blacks represent 13% of the population with black males at 7%, yet black males commit over 50% of all violent crimes in the USA and over 80% of black on black violent crime. The fake ideology that black males are being "hunted" by the police is a disgusting lie, and the root cause for the racial divisiveness in the USA today.
The rate by which blacks have violent encounters with police is directly proportionate to the amount of crime that their demographic commits. I'm no expert, but I expect we will see a huge decrease in the number of blacks shot by police as soon as the amount of crime committed by blacks is reduced.. The same can be said for every racial demographic by the way..
Until we can have an honest assessment of the real causes of crime and violence in the USA, nothing will improve. And, with the left being the #1 source of the lies and propaganda, it doesn't look like we will see any progress anytime soon.
If you are indeed serious, your analysis of Biden's address is just another shocking and disappointing example of how divided we are in this country. Please try an explain to me exactly what it is about Biden that makes you feel secure, proud, or positive of where this county is headed under this Administration, and I am asking sincerely?
As far as I am concerned, the comparison of the Biden of old and the Biden of today is irrelevant to the assessment of his overall character or ability to competently lead what used to be the most powerful nation on the planet. History has proven that Biden has consistently been on the wrong side of most policy for the last 47 years. He was a weak leader rejected twice as a presidential candidate by his own party even when he was taken seriously. Now, he's a bumbling, flip-flopping, puppet barely in charge of his own faculties. I find it impossible that any sane, reasonable, individual capable of common sense and basic intellect can honestly take this man seriously.
To claim that Biden "deeply cares" about the American people suggests a profound naïveté, or a lack knowledge in regard to Biden's political career. Biden is a poster boy for the D.C. Swamp. The only thing he has ever "deeply cared" about was lining the pockets of himself, his family and cronies.
@Zambezi100%
I think the only way to solve the world's problems is to put me in charge. I know I'd vote for myself.
Failing that a return to common sense and common decency would go a long way to restoring some balance. But best of all would be for everyone to switch off their tv's. The media is no longer a source of news but more a vehicle for propaganda.
Oh, horseshit!! Typical politician. Tells you what he thinks you want to hear but most people are smart enough to see through it.2
I met him on his book tour several years back, in the public presentation and semi-private. There are very few politicians who care about what you tell them. With Joe Biden, you leave knowing he cares about you. Sadly, he is the last.
@sesstoplemSadly Bob, you have fallen prey to much of what so many here have done: listening to the lame stream media, who hated Trump and love Uncle Joe, because Trump was America first, and Joe and the libtards are America last.
Our 2nd Amendment is misunderstood by many Americans so I dont really expect someone from another country born and raised without the benefit of one to fully get it. You obviously dont.
Per cops shootings: many more black people are killed every day in this country by other black people and not cops, and not with large capacity mag AR15's, mostly handguns. More white people are shot by police than black people, but you mostly only hear about the blacks who are shot, it has to serve the narrative which is cops are bad, and white Americans are all racists.
Your mention of hunting and not needing big mags for it is of course what many of those ignorant of the 2nd Amendment like to say, Joe does all the time. There is no mention of hunting in the Bill of Rights Bob, none. It is not about hunting, its about keeping a tyrannical govt from having total control over our lives and for that we need as the Founders meant us to, have access to the same firearms as they had when written. Obviously we dont have access to rocket launchers and some states dont have access to fully auto guns, like my own state, but they are legal in most states.
I dont care if you can or cannot be convinced of the need for large cap mags, it doesnt matter in the scheme of American politics what Bob in Oz thinks one way or the other, but you should really try to fully understand what its all about before commenting and sounding like our anti gunners here with knee jerk reactions.
I see BSO Dave beat me to the punch, and said it well.
I'm not an investment advisor, but I note that a potential problem with TIPS is that the issuer has the ability to define and redefine what constitutes inflation. Recall that many years ago, when it suite the narrative, energy and food were removed from core inflation calculations. Housing costs comprise about 40% of the current inflation calculation, and they unequivocally are going through the roof everywhere but a few urban areas; however, the posted inflation rates remain very low. hmmm. That's why I have avoided TIPS.Buy Tips and I- bonds before the government quits issuing them. Inflation may be coming. Just go to the lumber yard or look at grain prices. Boy them soybeans are at 15.00 a bushel. I feel like an Arab in a gas station
Bunch a malarkeyI am at work and don't have time for a 30 minute post, but I will touch.
I have followed Joe Biden's career, and he is certainly a different man than he was 30-40 years ago. He was a young arrogant lawyer who no doubt was on the wrong side of history on key issues (as where most of his peers); and he has said that. You can't change the past, but you can learn from it and move forward. If he had not learned from his mistakes, SC Rep Clyburn would not have endorsed him (which is what made the difference in democratic primary last year).
As he aged, he transitioned into a much more softer gentler man. Gaffs, oh yes; but that is also what makes Joe Crazy Uncle Joe (like it or hate it). He is a man who consoles those who need him. Last election cycle I shared a video of Biden hugging an emotionally distraught disabled child bawling in him arms. The counter to that was Donald Trump who only referred to disabled people by flailing his hands in the air and barking like a seal. I would have liked to have made that up, but sadly that happened...
The 2008 primary he was about 66 years old and still had quite a bit of spunk in him. 12 years later of playing 2nd fiddle and the loss of his son certainly slowed him down and aged him, what is he 77 or 78. To say he is senile is an inaccuracy. Is he slipping, sure, he is almost 80 - plus his life long stutter. Ronald Reagan had Alzheimers his last couple years of office; this is not Joe Biden's present situation as some of my friends on the right say. He would not have been able to campaign, debate, interview, or perform that speech last night. He wouldn't have been able to defeat Donald Trump when others couldn't. Donald Trump from the start saw Joe Biden as his biggest threat, and that's what got him impeached (you know...the first time...).
We live in a deep partisan divide. As the President said last night, we have to determine if democracies are going to lead the world in the 21st century. This administration would prefer to work in a bi-partisan manner because that is who Joe Biden fundamentally is. If it can't be done, he will not hesitate to issue executive orders or use Senate Reconciliation (since no republicans were willing to pass a bill they passed 2x before). The Senate is broken and this can not continue, but that is a different topic.
Joe Biden is not the perfect president and he very well may choose to serve one term. He's not going to be transformative. He is going to be transitional though. Whether the next President of the United States is a Republican or Democrat, they are going to inherent what Joe Biden gives them. Joe was elected to ensure the federal government functions again, see the nation through a pandemic, an associated economic collapse, and to save us from each other. He intends on doing that; he is doing that; and I believe history will look very favorably on his presidency.
I scrupulously avoid political debates, so I'm not going argue for or against the President's proposed tax plan. But I've spent much of today trying to digest the affect the capital gains rules are going to have on various asset classes, and specifically the affect on the generational transfer of large undeveloped property holdings here in Texas, and elsewhere. Assuming a property value in excess of the estate tax exemption, you are going to see huge tax bills (46%) coming due on the death of the current owner. I foresee a lot of the large ranches being broken up and sold off to pay taxes.
