Afton House was great, made gun permits easy, and shuttle service. Nice place, great food, made it easy on a first timer this year. I hear good things about the other placed mentioned as well.

I've got a vx-freedom 1.5-4 with the pig plex reticle on a 30-30 lever gun. Its quite a good scope for the money, and that duplex reticle with the centralized circle is pretty handy for shooting quick. Good scope for the money.

I shot everything from duiker to kudu on my trip this year with a 30-06 and the Federal Premium ammo loaded with the 165 grain TSX. Worked incredibly well for me.

Excellent shooting, beautiful rifle. That might be the only good thing about having hogs around, plenty of targets of opportunity!

Flew United last month. STL to Newark to Joburg to Port Elizabeth. The short flights were basic economy. The Newark to Johannesburg leg we did the comfort plus or economy plus whatever its called. I was plenty comfortable. Flights weren't full so you could sprawl out.

I knew it would work great. I shoulda made a point to get it out more. But when stuff was being skittish, hanging out at 300 yards, it made it tough. Next time, I am going to hunt bushpig over dogs and it'll shine on that.
