Double Rifle Shoot in West Ky?

I'm hoping we can make it a worthwhile event for anybody that comes down. I have been working on some ideas for a couple of friendly shooting competitions for the event and, I hope we have enough ammo for everybody to be able to shoot any of the different rifles/calibers that we have on hand. Probably going to try and do some BBQ for everyone. Hopefully be able to have the guys over to the house for some BBQ and a beverage after the shoot.

I'm interested. But like many have shared I don't have a double rifle, but I do have a 375H&H and a 458WM.

The way I look at it, I would say come on up, I am quite sure there will be some people there willing to let people try out their rifles and hopefully, if we get some sponsor ship we will have plenty of ammo for people to try out some different calibers and configurations.

I own a range in North Alabama, Cavern Cove Competitive Shooting.
I was kicking around the same idea. Except include bolt guns and single shots. We have hanging steel out to 200 yards. 375 & Up caliber.
All guns matter! Bring your bolt guns, doubles, levers, this shoot will be open to all types of rifles. I hope to come up with a few different competitions for the different classes of rie if we end up with enough participants.

Spoke with my buddy today and KYGUNCO may give us a little sponsorship for the shoot. We are talking with them.about possibly providing some ammunition in various calibers.
We are discussing possibly doing this around the last of Sept. I will keep everyone posted as we start firming up the details.
Sounds great!

I plan to talk to Kevin today hopefully. I was on vacation last week and then had to work. Last time I talked to him he had spoken with the owner of the range and we were looking at potentially Sept 21.

I'm down for late September. Can combine it with some work and have work pay for my hotel lol. Heading out for fall bear in early sept, hopefully ill have some bear snacks to bring.

It's looking like Oct.19th for the shoot. We had planned to do Sept but my work schedule would not cooperate.
Pleas shoot me a message and let me know what calibers you plan to bring if you can. KYGUNCO I believe is going to be sponsoring the shoot and providing some ammo. I will keep you all posted as we continue to firm up the details.

I should be able to make that happen. Should be right at the tail end of a vacation for me. I'll probably be bringing a CZ550 in 375 and possibly another 375.

I think that will work for me. I’ll have to see what work looks like closer to the time. I will be there if I can and will bring a 375 H&H and a 416 REM. Both Bolt guns, I also will bring a 300 H&H. I am looking forward to it.

I am out for this year due to expecting a kiddo around that timeframe, but I hope this would become an annual event.

I wish we could recreate the Zim Ph shooting exam. The videos I've seen look fun. We need to figure out how to replicate the lion charge.

If we had a sled with a target stand and a fairly long cable we could do it with a 4 wheeler.
Have the 4 wheeler behind the shooter and a cable running to the sled. When he takes off it would pull the sled right towards you.
Could be doable with a little engineering.
I like the idea!

In Zim I think they have the cable run through the shooter's legs. This seems not quite OSHA approved.

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
