Unwelcome news: Ammo Supply Unlikely to Return to Normal Anytime Soon

Well...did you at least get your vacuum? If so,, what model?
I bought a cheap Dirt Devil, which replaced a cheap Eureka that lasted eight years. I've had a couple of expensive ones over the years (Dyson, Electrolux), but they didn't last any longer than the Eureka. Surprisingly, or not, Wal Mart doesn't carry the Eureka brand any longer. Must have lasted too long? I'm sure the one I just bought will turn out to be a POS though.

It will last just as long as the warranty.

Well at least you found one! I buy the disposable vacs that die a day after the warranty expires to use for quick stuffs. No one likes using my Rainbow vac. That has lasted 25 years so far. Everyone said I was crazy for buying that but my son had awful allergies and well...it is still going strong! They just do not make many things like they used to!

CEH: One word for a vac - Shark. Bought ours in 2007 on Amazon for a little over a hundred. Still sucks every single bit as good today as when it came out of the box, which was and is exceptional. It makes vacuuming effortless.

@Just Gina
That's true look how many are older models on the forum and we are sill going. Maybe not as strong as 40 years ago but at least still going. And some of us have had replacement parts installed like hips and knees.
Ha ha ha ha ha

I just left BassPro here in San Antonio. Ammo shelves were stocked full. Shotgun, pistol, rimfire, and rifle. Boxes stacked high in almost every caliber. I did not take an inventory or log the prices of each, but I did see that the 9mm, for example, is still almost double in price what it should be. But, they had plenty of it. With time, and if people will stop the panic buying, the prices will come down.

We are supposed to believe that the ammo industry operates differently than any other capitalistic enterprise? Where the hell are the businessmen who should be manufacturing 24/7 with increased workforce? What is wrong with them for not jumping on extra business opportunity?!! Why do the ammo suppliers neglect even the rare 8x57 JR which always sells out rapidly and is nearly always out of stock, much less the bread and butter best sellers. It just doesn't make good business sense...

I sold those at one point in my life...mine is still going after 30 yrs...

With the banning of imported Russian ammo...you just thought it was bad.

They don't know what laws might shut them down. They are already running around the clock, 3 shifts. Why invest money into infrastructure when in 3 years give or take they would have to shut those lines down due to a decline in demand. They were just there before the election. Ammo prices were cheap. I don't blame them for the path they are choosing. If you want to manufacture ammo you can nothing is stopping you.

Yup, the people who were buying cheap Russian ammo are now going to be competing for the higher quality, more expensive stuff, which probably will cause the price of that ammo to increase.

This just as it seemed there was a light at the end of the tunnel, turns out it was a gorilla with a flashlight. :V Butt Kick:

If they can't take our guns, they can make it hard to feed them.

I remember not giving a rats ass if a couple of Primers hit the loading room floor, hell its just 3-4 cents, now with primers (if you can find them) going for 18 to 25 cents I'm on my knees with the mini vac grabbing them up

I want to know,,,who the hell voted for Biden ?
I think that the problem was that it was a vote against Trump.

Trump did a lot of good but he wasn't a part of the system. That and if he would of just stayed off of Twitter

But remember these shortages started 18 months ago when the Crona showed up and people panicked

Here’s the problem. Who wants to lay out the millions in capital needed to get into the business or make major expansions in capacity betting that the irrational hoarding will continue? If it were me, I would just finish my shiny new factory, hired and trained my last new worker and be shipping ammo like crazy and the demand would suddenly evaporate. Then the established names like Federal and Winchester would run me out of busines.

All the greenies, lefty idiots, illegals, junkies, worthless welfare types and other assorted asses who aren't very bright.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
