They’re a lot of idiots in our country who believe the Communism BS.

You do realize that Russia isn't communist? The great evil isn't the particular "ism". But rather that evil people create authoritarian dictatorships and use all manner of propaganda and violence to perpetuate their regime. All for the benefit of the ruling elite of the time. The deluded young man in the video will have an unbelievably hard landing when reality hits.

It is true that Communism doesn't exclusive rights to evil but inherent to the system are the rules that cause its failure. Communism is basically a redistribution system that history shows does not work.

Mitch McConnell seems to be dealing with some serious health issues.

He needs to step aside as minority leader, and let someone with a clear head, and sharp mind, take over.
And the Democrat governor will declare State law unconstitutional and appoint a Democrat.

No. He can remain a Senator, but someone else needs to take over as Senate minority leader.
We are at a nasty crossroad against this radical democrat leadership, where the the Republicans need strong, sharp, and aggressive leadership. Mitch McConnell is not that person.
Mitch needs to swallow his pride & ego, and do what's right for the Republican party.

It won’t just stop at the replicator effect. Warfare in total is on a path to extinction - swarms of killer drones make a soldier redundant, swarms of sea and air drones make ships unviable, anti-aircraft systems and drones make aircraft redundant and lasers make missiles redundant. The future balance of world power will be based upon economics, possibly a points system. Consequences will be things like compulsory super sanctions.

Why? The Turtle may make a full recovery from his concussion or he may not. Too soon to tell. Frankly, There are two in the Senate that are impaired both D's and no one is calling on them to step down except one because they want Newsome to pick her replacement. Much less the impaired one in the White House.

Yes

Read that this morning

Both content and timing are interesting

With the possibility of Ukraine breaking through to the south

And Putin waving his nuclear willy around again

Well fortunately neither he nor his constituents nor his caucus must rely upon anyone's permission but their own. Periodic pauses or not, he still has infinitely more on the ball than the guy in the White House, and no one has more experience maximizing the power of a senate minority position than he does.

Not hardly my friend. From the first shaped club and chipped bit of flint, there has been innovation and counter-innovation in the art of warfare. As Mathew noted, "You will hear of wars and rumors of wars." After all, just eighty years ago nuclear weapons would make war impossible. The advent of tanks at Cambrai 1917 heralded the certain end of trench warfare. And of course the advent of the strategic bomber in the 1930's heralded the advent of a decisive new weapon that would make industrial based warfare impossible.

As I type, EOS out of Australia has begun fielding in Ukraine a compact radar directed 30mm gun firing a proximity fused 30mm round that is designed specifically for sweeping low cost drones from the sky (in optical sighting mode it can also work over a light armored vehicle). It is light enough to be mounted on almost anything with four wheels or tracks.

I expect the US Army will adopt a similar capability soon. An yes, lasers will likely be the next generation of force protection immediately followed by defensive reflective or obscuration technologies.

The US Navy is thus far leading the offensive use technology with respect to UAVs (drones). Their concept will be the use of fully integrated swarms to attack enemy naval threats. By mid-century, both Air Force and Navy attack aircraft will be managing unmanned "wingmen" that will actually deliver ordinance on the target. The US Army is already experimenting with robotic, armed, vehicles that would accompany AFVs and tanks into battle.

None of this will end warfare, but it will give far greater deterrence value to the more technologically advanced military.

:D Pop Popcorn:

This is a really good piece of analysis. I am certain the neo-isolationists will never clutter their minds with it. After all, I am sure neither Trump nor Vivek Ramaswamy nor Tucker Carlson will ever challenge themselves with anything like it.

That statement is laughable at best. A majority or minority leader work for all us, and answer to all of us, and not just a caucus, constituency, or the status quo.

No one has more experience maximizing the power of a Senate minority?......LOL

McConnell couldn't organize Jack shit when he was majority leader......and Jack left town.

Weak leadership is the direct result of our current state of political affairs.

Laughable? Really? Well let's look at each of your assertions.

The constitution, as amended, establishes that a senator is elected by his or her constituents in his or her state. The senator works for them. Ethically, he works for the country - but he only answers to his constituents. That means McConnell does not work for you or any other voter outside of Kentucky. As a matter of fact, as a Arizonan, you technically have no one in the senate that represents your particular political grievances directly. You might want to consider that as a focus of your ire.

Majority and minority leader are elected by the party conferences of the senate. Back to the first point, from a Republican party senate conference perspective, no one really cares what Arizona thinks at the moment with respect to whom the minority leadership is given.

The senate minority leader has a great deal of power - not as much as the majority leader - but, nevertheless, considerable political power and influence. McConnel has, throughout his leadership career, been a pragmatist. Bellowing in rage about issues that either can't be fixed or are not worth the political capital of fixing them is alien to his, and frankly the senate's, critical path for getting things done. He is an expert at it. His peers recognize him as such.

McConnel, not the flim flam man from New York, gave us the most conservative court in a hundred years. That is a remarkable accomplishment that will long outlive the chaos brought about by Donald Trump. Pretty good for ole Jack.

With respect to minority leadership and its role, over the last 100 years the republican party has held both houses for only twenty. For twelve years, McConnel has navigated both majority and minority leadership. No one has a better handle on it and that is why his conference voted him the leadership role 37 to 10 over Rick Scott.

He is anything but a weak leader. Because he knows how to use his influence and work the legislative system, he actually gets things done. Indeed, other than executive orders, Trump was dependent upon McConnel to get anything through the senate. Again, SCOTUS nominees were the most publicly noteworthy.
