A couple questions for all of you legal minds.
Trump is charged with covering up a crime 34 times.
The charges don't mention an initial crime. (or I have missed it)
How can you be guilty of covering up a crime 34 times, if there is no original crime? (This is kind of like the Mueller report. Obstruction of justice but no colluding with Russia.)
Also, the charges seem to take place in 2017. Trump had resigned all positions within the Trump organization to be POTUS. Authority was given to Eric, the board and the officers. The Trump organization paid Cohen. How can a person be guilty of covering up a crime if they are not in a position of authority to cover up the crime?
