I will disagree. Democrats changed voting laws in a half dozen states during covid. They now have 270 electoral votes. No Republican will win the presidency unless Republicans learn to ballot harvest better than Democrats or unless Republicans get laws changed back to pre 2020 in at least three states.

Republicans have known this since 2021 but have done nothing as a party to change it. (Cleta Deathridge Mitchel and her organization are the only group trying to fight back.) Republicans even reelected the same do nothing Chairperson to the same position that has helped cause Republican's to lose the past three National elections.

Unless things change in the next year and a half, it doesn't matter who the Republican candidate is.

Even though we might disagree on the Trump issue I fully agree with the rest of your post. Unless the Republican party wakes up. modernises their approach, gets stuck into harvesting every single vote they can then they are doomed to never ever regaining power. Today was possibly the most important election in America between last November and the presidential election in 2024. The election took place in Wisconsin for Supreme Court. Tens of millions were spent with Democrats far outspending Republicans. Soros even threw in his allotted million or two.

Wisconsin had fought for ID while voting and got it passed. Now the Wisconsin Supreme Court will overturn the ID law. Wisconsin is now blue in the 2024 election.

The Republican National Committee should have spent every penny they had on this race. Instead they will spend billions on the Presidential race and it won't matter.

The way I understand it, the two "hush money" payments were made to the former porn star and Playboy bunny in 2016 BEFORE the Presidential election. Paying hush money isn't illegal. It's only if Trump used campaign finances for the payments. The DOJ and FEC had already dismissed any irregularities and now here we are. Take a look at the trial of former NC Democrat Senator John Edwards for virtually the same issues and who was acquitted. the Republicans will need a candidate that has shown capacity to deal with corrupt politicians and organized crime (redundant), so Trump may be the best in terms of doing the job- however I fear it will be too late.
