Politics

I believe you are the one in the middle looking on. :)

Wish more Monarchs would do this these days.

I had the good fortune to see Her Majesty face to face on two separate occasions in my life. The first time was when I graduated from the University of London in 1965. She was awarding all of the students their certificates during the graduation ceremony. Second time was when she made a state visit to Bangladesh in 1983. The country had just become independent 12 years prior. I was posted in Khulna at that time, being the Divisional Forest Officer of the Sundarbans. She was a most gracious lady. She loved to drink tea with lemon and really enjoyed meringue biscuits from Olympia Bakery.

Rest in Peace, your Majesty.

I hate that disgraceful delinquent Harry and his attention seeking gold digger of a wife too. Simply leaving the Royal family wasn’t enough for them. After failing to get any spotlight in America, they had to return to Great Britain so that Meghan could go on talk shows and bitch about how “Unfair the Royals were to her”.

Great story. Thanks.

I know it may sound weird for an American to be sad to see an English monarch pass way but my heart goes out to the people of the United Kingdom.

As a student of history this is a big event. The last monarch of the greatest empire the world has ever known has died. A link to the history has gone.

I always had this idea that upon the passing of Queen Elisabeth II, King Charles would abdicate soon after, placing the new young couple William and Kate on the throne.
I think they need about ten years to mature though before that heavy yolk it thrust upon them. It is their light hearted spirit that the people find so appealing, always being together, laughing and joking. Many of his official duties as king would necessitate him being alone, Kate would be lost.

Forget us going to war with anyone. 75% of youths can't pass the muster for the military, any service.

I take comfort knowing there are athletic world records being broken all the time, so the potential is there.

Not weird at all. She was always a friend and ally of the United States.

Yes but the link still continues as she has family and her bloodline is still ongoing.

Queen Elizabeth was a remarkable woman. The world has suffered a loss. It will be interesting to see if Charles learned what he should have from her. Time will tell.

The Queen did have a great sense of humor. She might even have gotten a chuckle out of that.

I think King Charles will be accepted and be a good king. Knowing that William and Kate are next in line will buoy the monarchy up and see Charles through.
why Queen Elizabeth II was so good IMHO was that she kept out of politics
Charles and William are both promoters of the "Great Reset" ect...

Was listening on the radio this morning about what has to change now that there is a new king.
  • Every bobby on the beat wears a helmet with ER (Elizabeth Rex) on it. That will now change to CR.
  • Bank notes obviously
There are thousands of things that carry the royal emblem. It will all be changed. So just from a practical point of view that is going to be an expensive and laborious exercise. If Charles doesn't abdicate before this happens then they will have to go through the whole process in a decade or so if he passes on or abdicates then.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
