Is there something in the water in Colorado??

Perhaps I missed it somewhere but IIRC, Trump was never tried or convicted of insurrection or anything else stemming from the Jan 6 demonstrations.
I believe SCOTUS has already tossed several of these attempts to use the 14th Amendment in this way.

But TDS runs deep with some, I guess they can use the Constitution in whatever way suits them at any particular time, like stopping Trump from being able to run again.
Apparently they must add something to the water systems in Denver.....

Considering the current makeup of our SC, this wasn't a complete surprise. I suspect if Trump can get this in front of the US SC it will be overturned. This country used to demand a conviction before a sentence could be conferred. You would think a state SC would understand this basic principal of law.
I was a reluctant Trump supporter, both elections, and would like to see a better candidate on the ballot in 2024 with an R at the end of their name, but trying to keep him off a primary ballot, based on an accusation without a conviction, is just flat out wrong.

Not even a charge, let alone a conviction. I never saw him in court in Colorado defending himself against any charges of insurrection.
Professor Jonathan Turley a few minutes ago that this was the most anti democratic opinion he had seen in his lifetime.

My gut tells me that this is going to boomerang on them by accelerating a review and ruling by the SCOTUS that he is indeed eligible to be on the ballot. Not saying I agree, that's just my gut feeling of how this will play out.

A really big deal. The first brigade level deployment outside Germany since the second world war.
How effective is the current Bundeswehr? I had not heard much good about it as a whole. Is this more of a symbolic gesture or a real effort?

The wording of the article titles from all the liberal rags is predictably overstated.

Think Colorado decision has a long way to go before Trump is off the ballot but this is a funny take on Colorado.

With Trump on the Colorado ballot, Biden is a strong favorite to win the state. Take Trump off the ballot, and there is a good chance Biden loses the state to Robert Kennedy. Democrats might want to rethink their strategy.

Look for every red state Attorney General to file a lawsuit against Colorado in Federal Court.

The Colorado Solicitor General is going to have to increase staff to fight lawsuits in 25+ District Courts plus all Circuit Courts.

4-3 decision, SCOTUS will overturn it.

35 years ago they were superb. Now, they are just beginning to get their legs back under themselves thanks to long overdue funding. This sort of "no sh$t" deployment is the best thing that could happen to them.

With regards to Colorado's "activist" Supreme Court removing Trump from the ballot here with no legal justification, it's the same court back in a June ruling citing the 5th Amendment, forcing DAs statewide to set bond for First Degree Murder (even multiple murders) Defendants. Their argument is since Colorado abolished the death penalty in 2020, every defendant is entitled to bond. The bond can be astronomical so the defendant can't attain it, but still a bond. This too needs to be appealed to SCOTUS as the liberal CSC feels the need to "interpret" the US Constitution. Even our liberal Governor Polis and many Democrats in the Legislature are calling for a 2024 Constitutional ballot initiative to overturn it. "Mama, don't let your cowboys end up in Colorado". LOL

You mean 6-3.
Colorado's was 4-3. SCOTUS SHOULD be 9-0, but will probably be 6-3. Although, I can't believe even the liberals on SCOTUS would rule that Trump couldn't be on ANY states' ballot as he hasn't been convicted of anything. It will set a dangerous, slippery slope precedent if they do vote that way.
Oh, and the CSC is basing their decision on the 14th Amendment. They've been recently "interpreting" both the 5th and 14th Amendments in different cases. I hope SCOTUS slams them hard in this regard.

I guess since this involves the gay Senate staffer who thought it was cool to have sex in a public Congressional space, this is the appropriate place for this story.

I don‘t know who wrote this for Afru but the ass-hattery is strong with zim/xer. They said having gay sex in a Congressional hearing room was as courageous as Anne Frank in the attic writing her diary. I have no words for how f’ed up this is.

Oh, the arrogance of that little peter puffing piece of shit:

"I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace,” he wrote. “Any attempts to characterize my actions otherwise are fabricated and I will be exploring what legal options are available to me in these matters.”

Strip him down (since he likes being in the buff), coat him in bacon grease, and turn him loose in Grand County, Colorado.

He could be the little boy who cried wolf. Doggy style would take on a whole new meaning...

Another rising Demonrat "star" crashes and explodes like a Javelin warhead obliterating a Russian tank. LOL
