The only solution at this point that I see is he drops out before he throws shit all over everyone else.. waits until a very clear front runner emerges.. and then endorses that front runner.. and then KEEPS HIS MOUTH SHUT from that point until the election is over... that MIGHT consolidate the vote and MAYBE the R's have a chance at a win..

That will never happen, he is too narcissistic for that to happen. Also, if he were to quit, his supporters would no longer pay for his attorneys via donations. Additionally, I think he is looking to the Presidency as his get out of jail free card, at least as far as Federal charges go.

Yes, most of the charges are questionable at best. However, based on the latest information the obstruction of justice charge via attempt to erase video footage might have some teeth.

In a way I am glad I live in CA and my vote in a general election for POTUS does not matter. Otherwise it would be a lot of soul searching. Vote for a man that is totally unsuitable to be President or his opponent who is also unsuitable. Who would damage the country more?

Now, I do not know who I will vote for in the primaries, but it will not be Trump.

  1. 2020 Presidential Election:
    • Democratic Candidate: Joe Biden
    • Popular Vote Total: Approximately 81.3 million votes
  2. 2016 Presidential Election:
    • Democratic Candidate: Hillary Clinton
    • Popular Vote Total: Approximately 65.8 million votes
  3. 2012 Presidential Election:
    • Democratic Candidate: Barack Obama (incumbent)
    • Popular Vote Total: Approximately 65.9 million votes
Trump also brought in ~16 million more votes against him than any other Republican has ever done. It is irrelevant how many votes he got while losing.

Great Point!

You are saying exactly what I have been saying for the past two years.

Trump brought in 10 million new votes primarily on election day.

Biden brought in 16 million new votes primarily in the weeks, and months before the election. A few hundred thousand came in up to a week after the election in a hand full of counties.(Post office stamp)

How did that happen:
1. Mail in voting.
2. Blanket mail out of blank ballots in Democrat heavy areas.
3. Mail out of ballots to voter registration rolls that haven never been cleaned up. Vacant lots received ballots. Apartments received ballots going back decades. Dead people received ballots.
4. Hundreds of millions of private money, ie: Zuckerberg, went to have people harvest the ballots in targeted urban centers.
5. Unsupervised drop boxes in heavy urban areas.

I could list many more.

Trump lost by 100,000 total votes in five states, which changed the election. I have been harping that the Republican's have got to change these laws if any Republican has a chance to win. So far Ronna McDaniel (Romney) has been a total disgrace. The Republican National Committee has done nothing material to get these laws changed. Some State Legislatures have worked on it.

If we don't get these laws changed before 2024 so we can have a fair election and citizens know it is fair, we may end up with laws changed so much that no Republican may ever win again.

Side tangent: I never understand why citizens of Illinois, California, Massachussets, etc. register republican. Throws your vote away. Register as a democrat or independent and vote in the primaries for the most conservative dem possible, at least you can shape the future.

In some states, registered independents get to vote in either dem/rep primaries, the best possible scenario for actually having a vote matter.

Republicans are going to lose. It won’t matter who the Democrats run. They can put up anyone they want. Republicans haven’t addressed the State changes from the last election, their ground game is non existent, the media are totally in the hole for the Democrats, and the “so called” republican voter base is totally fractured. Only the Trump supporters are unified and they aren’t enough. Trump and Hillary got voters out who had never voted. I have neighbors on both sides of me who were in their sixties that registered for the first time to vote against Hillary mostly but liked that Trump wanted to help blue collar folks regardless of how effective or genuine anyone here thinks he was at it. Working people liked what he said. If it’s Trump, too many will stay home. If it’s an establishment stooge like Romney or McCain were against Obama and too many will stay home. The Dems could run a yellow dog and win. Unfortunately, this site has proven that to me. No unity at all. The Dems have unity and they have an effective ground game and aggressive campaign approach to win new people to replace the ones who grew brains and left them. The Republicans don’t. Hate to be a downer but I don’t see or hear unity on the right and am hearing too many people who are black pilled and checking out from politics and media. MSM ratings reflect that.

Has anyone heard of or seen actual evidence that Prigozhin is dead? Seems to be a lot of speculation that he is, but as yet I see no proof. Seems a bit too convenient.

Those laws will not change in any state with a Democrat majority in their legislature or a democrat governor. That includes several critical swing states. Obviously, the only thing that currently can happen at the federal level, even if constitutional, would be stalemate (thank God).

While reform is important - Georgia, Texas, and Florida - we had better figure out how to create a ground game to get out an early vote. Thus far, I see zero evidence that we have.

I truly do believe you are underestimating Trump's capacity to motivate the opposition and demotivate republicans like me.

That said, Biden is a far weaker candidate now than in '20. I still expect him to bow out by the new year and should that happen, Newsome will win any last minute contest between he and Harris. In spite of California's woes, he is young, articulate, and attractive. Sadly, he could win the general handily.

I completely agree....

and Newsome in the white house is absolutely terrifying..

How is it too convenient? All Putin needed was an opportunity that offered the thinnest veil to hide his complicity. I am confident he is dead as dead can be; he has been a walking dead man since the mutiny. The plane was either shot down or brought down with a bomb - almost certainly on the orders of Putin. Russia will carry out an investigation and determine it was anything but a Russian SAM or 2lbs of SEMTEX. The country really is run like a mafia crime ring.

I want so badly to say you are wrong, have learned a long time ago with age comes wisdom. That is very similar the discussion I once had with a boss of mine. He was right I was wrong (on Obama). This kind of feels that way, my hope would be a candidate that can articulate a message of how terrible California is performing for her people. One of the reasons Texas population has grown along with Florida.

No sir, sadly I think you are more correct than wrong.

If we can take the Whitehouse without Trump, Im all for it. I'm just not sure who would be able to pull it off?
and that is indeed the crux of the problem...

the vast majority of trump haters are going to stay home.. there is no convincing most otherwise..

so if trump takes the ticket... the democrats get 4 more years.. and the republic is dead..

the far better solution for the US if for Trump to drop out of the race and give some other candidate a fighting chance at the White House.. but I dont think Trumps ego is going to allow that to happen..

I sincerely hope I am proven wrong.. but I feel pretty certain that as long as Trump stays in the race, the Democrats could run a rotten zucchini (theyre practically running a vegetable now...)... and win the election..

If trump wins the seat on the R ticket.. a significant number of R's are staying home.. resulting in a D win..

If trump doesnt get the seat and runs independent.. a significant number of R's are going to vote independent.. neither the R's or the independents will have enough votes to win.. D's take the throne again..

If trump doesnt get the seat and then steps out but spends the rest of the election cycle raising hell about the remaining candidates and refuses to endorse whoever gets the R seat.. then his loyalists will stay home.. resulting in a D win..

There were 2 major factors in Trumps defeat. There are others.....

1.) Facebooks election interference campaign.

2.) The FBI throwing a rug on the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.

Facebook & twitter conveniently kicked Trump off the platforms. Silence your opposition.

As I've stated before, the Democrats have become masters of cheating and manipulation. Light years ahead of the Republicans ability to beat them at their own game. The Democrats have the bulk of the media Toadies on their side.

How do you persuade low information voters? By keeping them blind to the truth.

Where is the evidence to support that? You dont think its possible this was orchestrated by Prigozhin himself to get Putin off his back?
So far at least there is no evidence that he was even on the plane.

Dont forget the 5 year campaign of leftist lies trying to convince the world that he "colluded" with Putin to win the election, that sadly many on our side apparently believed.
TDS runs deep in some.

And right on schedule, Russian state TV announces the start of the Russian government's investigation to determine how the plane suddenly, and apparently rather violently, lost one of its wings at 25 thousand feet. Bird (as in really big) strike anyone? Cigarette in the toilette trash receptacle?

Georgia was a state that had laws on the books regarding requirements for the election. Mark Ellias filed suit to allow changes in the election and the Secretary of State agreed to changes completely overriding Georgia law that had been past by the legislature and signed by the governor. Georgia has a Republican Governor and a Republican Legislature. Unless I missed something, if an election were held today, they would do it the same way as 2020 with mail in ballots and ballot drop boxes and not according to the laws of the State.

Pennsylvania had laws on the books regarding elections. Those laws were set aside to allow mail in ballots and ballot harvesting. With Republican's in control of the Senate, they should be able to hold a stalemate yet lost in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

It is my understanding that the Republican National Committee has done nothing to help either State uphold their election laws for a national election. It's been too long for me to remember details of Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, and North Carolina.

I agree with you that getting laws changed in States with Democrats in control will not work.

I also agree with you that Republicans at the State and Federal level are doing nothing to get out a competing ground game. You have to think the Democrats saw how it worked last time and already have the wheels in motion to more than double down this time. Thus my frustration with the Republican party apparatus.

Perhaps I am underestimating Trump's ability to motivate the opposition and to demotivate some Republicans like you. What I do know is that Trump in 2024 got 10 million more votes than any Republican ever received before and he lost by a small margin in five states. Perhaps hard core Republicans that voted for him in 2016 and 2020 will vote against him this time or not vote at all. What I feel pretty certain of is that the majority of the 10 million non-traditional Republicans that Trump brought to the 2020 election, that he did not even have in the 2016 election, will not vote in 2024 if Trump isn't the candidate.

Well worth a few minutes to listen to.
