Karl Marx would be proud. Those that are well-off are an easy target. Heck, many Trumpies love Trump because he "will stand against the swamp". You can't get swampier than a real estate developer in NYC. It is amazing how he can make the working class people feel hat they can relate to him.
I have listened to it. I am amazed at the appeal. IMO he’s not a very good singer and it’s not a very good song. And the comment on Marx is spot on. This song should appeal to the Dems not the republicans.

So I'm slow to the party here.

I'm truly confused as to why you both think this about this song. Honestly, I'm not upset about your comments I just don't get how the way we are receiving the message are so far apart.

My take on it.

He is talking about politicians. That have caused inflation to rise so much your dollar does not carry the value it once did. You dollar is taxed way more than it should be (my bonus was over 40% taxed just the other day). He is bring attention to people abusing the welfare system and calling them out on it. He is saying big brother is keeping an eye on you and they think we are to dumb to recognize it. He is bring attention to children trafficking (hints the island comment). He is bring attention to suicide, people feel like they are always being kicked down then they but themselves 6 feet in the ground. He wants to wakeup and none of that to be true.

Now the over time hours for BS pay, people can definitely take that how they want (maybe that is why you made the comments you did?) Most of us start out like that. Not everyone is willing to accept it. Personally have changed careers 5 different times in 25 years. Always trying to do better, I have no complaints about my pay it is the deal I made. Busted ass and spent many hours away from family to get to this point in my life (still trying to do better every year) . I'm also not ignorant to the fact a good number of people get stuck for whatever reason. Location, education, family, I don't have the answer for people that think that way. When I first started to manage people I learned I had to manage my expectation. Not everyone one is willing to work 48 hours straight to get a project completed.

Having read a lot of what the both of you have written. Have always admired your success, I'm also pretty sure you have both busted ass to make it happen. So for those reasons I'm curious as to why you feel the way you do about this song.

Thanks in advance, I do appreciate your opinion.

I can’t speak for @Tanks, but I did not understand that he was talking about corrupt politicians. I heard a shot at those who have busted ass and gotten ahead based on our capabilities and efforts. So my bad. I would also caution that not all politicians are bad. We have good folks in DC trying to do the right thing for our country. I don’t like painting them all with the same brush.

Anybody else watching the GOP primary debate tonight?

Yep. I am very disappointed in Vivek. I had high hopes that he would rise above the fray and he’s turned out to be the biggest mud slinger of the bunch. The point at which he claimed to be the only candidate on stage who is not already bought and paid for was totally out of line.

So far I feel that Scott, DeSantis and Pence have presented themselves well. Early days though.

Yeah. Enjoyed seeing Haley tear Ramawamy (sp) a new asshole on him being against aid for for Ukraine.

DeSantis doing fair. Only fair, unfortunately.

Agreed. That guys position on Ukraine and understanding of the situation was appalling. I thought Pence was solid when he told him that we could help Ukraine and defend our border at the same time.

Absolutely. Pence has been really solid on policy.

Candidates looking around to see what candidates have raised their hands before raising theirs is not an endearing quality.

I think Pence has been doing ok, I don’t like his talking over and always trying to get a word. Like the energy just need to channel it better.

I am done with Vivek, he crossed the red lines for me on foreign policy.

The governors from Arkansas and North Dakota have done well but it is unfortunate they don’t have the support.

Tim Scott is really good, he and the two governors don’t mud sling as bad as the others.

Interesting how DeSantis has not been talking more. A shame.

So Russia and China will know exactly where to go plunder next....make it so much easier for them.....

Whoa there, don't be dissin' on the US, they can out plunder the best of 'em! Long history and a well polished act that leaves the host country wondering where this civil war came from, who stole our resources and why are all of these USAID and NGO folks swarming the hot zones.

I think a good friend of mine here in CA, a self-made man, said it best on his IG feed.

I am so tired of people both on the right and on the left blaming others for their woes. People are not helpless and are the masters of their own destiny. Yes, that song resonated with a lot of people because they'd rather blame others instead of themselves. Rich people and/or politicians are an easy target.

Even with Biden and Democrats there are opportunities abound. Many of you have been to Africa and other third world countries, do you think they live better and have better opportunities?

We do have an immigration problem, why? Because people elsewhere realize that the USA is still the greatest country on Earth and want in.

BTW, one of my employees had a medical emergency today and could not go and take care of a client. I grabbed a laptop and headed out for what ended up being a10 hour workday (brought back fine memories) rather than canceling on a client. While there we discussed another two major projects he brought up that we will be sole sourced in. Opportunities are created.

Oh boy another troll. Best to avoid until dry, just like a fresh tootsie roll in the yard

Anyway, Ramaswamy lost me well before the debate. Too bad, he had potential. Either he is an idiot or his advisors are or both. He's toast and well should be after some of his foreign policy statements the last few days.

Didn't watch the debate. All trying to sell something and scratching around in the chicken yard desperately looking for recognition and some also-ran crumbs while our country implodes :)

We are on the same page. Wanted to hear your thoughts to make sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks for answering.

WTF is all this? What's a genderqueer???

“I feel like everyone experiences gender a little differently, and it's almost impossible to place people in a definitive box,” says 21-year-old Carden Cappi, a student who identifies as “trans, demiboy and genderqueer” and uses they/them pronouns. “The idea of a spectrum enables people to be more individual and express their identity and experience a little better.”

So, I had to google this sh*t, and I about fell on my rear end.

According to Healthline: "A “queer” gender may fall outside of, fall in between, or fluctuate among the binary gender categories of man and woman. People who are genderqueer often experience their gender as fluid, meaning it can shift and change at any given time. Genderqueer can also describe a position of questioning one’s gender identity during a particular period of time or in an ongoing way."

:A Bang Head::A Bang Head::A Shit::A Shit::E Horrified::E Horrified::S Censored::S Censored:
"Gender fluid" is a euphemism for chemical confusion. It's no mystery that the preponderance of today's symptoms are caused by the now ubiquitous endocrine disrupting chemicals like atrazine, glyphosate, BPAs and PVC leachate. Pharma and medical sectors, never ones to miss exploiting an engineered problem-- we find the "transitioning" drugs and medical procedures are a burgeoning billion dollar industry. Find the primary sponsor of you local "pride" festival, don't be surprised to learn it's the corporation behind the healthcare in your state providing "support" to their future clientele.
Bottom line: endocrine disruption=subtle to permanent alterations including disturbed sex differentiation, feminized males, masculinized females, changed sexual behavior in mammals, birds, fish and mollusks--all effed!
Many will point fingers at society, parents, the kids, whatever. The blame really falls on the "regulatory" bodies who pandered to industry and allowed this endocrine disrupting shite to become a GD scourge upon the earth, almost ALL water has glyphosate (round-up) or atrazine in it now and domestic use often runs it through endocrine disrupting PVC or PEX plumbing.
