I seem to be in the same boat. Just picked up a custom built on a Ruger Magnum action with a fantastic English walnut stock for probably the cost of the blank in 300 wby. Could not pass it up and I can't remember ever coming across a custom built on a ruger RSM action.

I picked up this rifle recently and mentioned it in the "Good gun deals" and a member was interesting is seeing some pics. The action is the Ruger RSM action ordered as a receiver only from Ruger in 1995. I do not know who did the custom work but whoever it was did a very nice job. The...

The quality of that guns engraving is far worse than it appears. It’s acid etched portraits of Diana and Amazons couples with etched and then chased scroll. The overall quality of the gun is average at best.

I think it’s priced at full retail in Europe.

One is a Rem 721.. the other is a custom Enfield P1917.. I think it was a Rem gun, but might be a winchester.. I'd need to confirm...

How can you tell it was acid etched?

The fidelity of the images is pretty weak compared to true buLino engraving. They put a photo over the metal, use an acid, it etches. Then they hand traced over the scroll work. It’s just not a very good job in my opinion when you look very closely at it.
