A Question for Democrats (My Rant)

Democrats are already calling for Trump to be banned from Twitter. Trump has given the Liberals a big slap upside the head. That in itself has been worth the price of admission.

And as things in the economy improve Trump ratings actually up. Don't know what libs gonna point to if this keep up. LOL

Trump got elected - and continues to win elections - because the mainline political parties and their establishment candidates have s**t the bed for years. I would say the same thing has happened in many other countries. When you treat the voters as if they owe you, rather than the other way around, one day you will pay the price. And the price will be someone who disrupts the status quo.

Note that this has been the case across the political spectrum, in the US and abroad. This is not a liberal/conservative issue. Both ends are equally guilty.

I'd say this disruption is a good thing. For people everywhere.

Would you guys happen to have any advice for a kid like me in the art of political discourse?

I'm positive the swamp dwellers will fabricate a new scandal against Trump. They want to keep everyone as distracted as possible.

The Democrat party has a savior. "The Rock", is considering a run for President in 2020.

We can have a "Meat head" for a President.

Oh I didn't say they wouldn't point ! I just said I didn't know what they would point at ! :E Nono:

Let's be honest, we all want to see him give a campaign speech as "The Rock", telling everyone how he'll lay the smackdown on all our candy a$$es

My guess, is that they will start to escalate the "Mental fitness" narrative.

Schumer, Pelosi, Warren, Waters, Lee, and Bernie, should all take a good look in the mental mirror.

I think he might actually be a genius with his tweets and that is being very purposefully done. Liberals and the media seem to have laser like focus on his tweeter account. However, we have a more conservative Supreme Court Justice, grizzly was delisted, Kate's law passed the house as well as the roll back of other regulations. Yet what does everyone talk about his tweets. As much as I cringe, I sometimes think there is a method to his madness.

Of course there is and it's got him fortune, fame and at least 4 years with the home address of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. From his point of view, why would he change his m.o. now? Personally I'd prefer he shut down his twitter account and scale back the rhetoric, but that got him elected, so unlikely until at least the 2018 mid term elections. If he loses either house, then maybe. If he doesn't lose either or even gains seats, not a chance.

Pretty good analysis, @Hank2211. @Foxi, while I understand your outside of the U.S. point of view, you may also want to look at the trail of dead people associated with the Clintons that perhaps the media in your world has not reported on. I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch, but at some point one has to wonder. That little problem that so many in the media wish to ignore concerns me far more than Trump's tweets.

Yep! Spot on Phil.
And your right.....no way DT changes now......what we and see of him is exactly who he has always been.

Without our 2nd Amendment the other nine Bill of Rights will not stand.
I voted to preserve it.
And I will continue to base my vote and political activities unapologetically to maintain it.
It really is that simple.
We must maintain our 2nd Amendment God given rights.

Sadly, agree.... amen.

As many on here know, I was a liberal democrat. I supported Hillary in the 2008 primary. I liked a lot of what Obama did. I hated a lot of other stuff that he did. While I hate the GOP harping on social issues like abortion and gay marriage and marijuana, the left has become even worse. Millenials have hijacked the democractic party and destroyed it. I saw my party go from supporting qualified and intelligent statesmen like Clinton and Biden (I will not debate this) to rallying behind unhinged socialist lunatics (Bernie Sanders). It has become the party of identity politics, SJWs, and tax-loving socialists. I hate most republican politicans and I think that the GOP is as corrupt if not more than the democratic party, but until the democrats start talking about the economy and helping working class Americans again, I will be voting Republican. Now, I just need Trump and the GOP to deliver on the wall and tax reform so that I can justify my party switch.

We have the same problem up here. I think it is the political equivalent to a pyramid scheme. It is a form of business where you convince everyone to put money into a scheme that then employs you to convince others that it is a good idea. In the end, half the country is employed in the governmental multi-level marketing scam, and we all pay >50% tax. The party's future is secure because you have to vote for them or the buraucratic employment scheme will collapse, putting an end to your comfy government job.

@Saul I respect the hell out of you for that. Won't agree 100%, but respect no less.

In case you think I'm being hard on Trump (I'll agree with anyone that he is being slighted, regularly, although he handles it rather poorly).

And that's as far as I will go with politics on this site. Good day all.

@CTDolan That a little unfair, but typical left M.O.

Those comments made by the first 2, written by others. Actually are monumental words that were just words. Roosevelt created many of the shitty "programs", as a scam sold to help. Short term gain, long term pain, not his problem. JFK.... look back at manny of his supporters.... How many are/were helping this country or receiving a hand out? Also, he was in office for 2.5 years. His life & presidency were glamorized by the media (i.e. Camelot), not by what he actually did.

The last 4-5 months Trump has been in office, he's been constantly defending himself from personal attacks, while trying to make good on his promises.

Here is the interesting thing to me though. It's now blind and tone deaf the Democratic party has become. They want to make it ALL about Trump, and I'm sorry but it's just not. The dems are getting their hats handed to them on every level.

Just look at the recent special elections, where the dems went 0-4. They were celebrating as if they were victorious because they didn't lose "that bad" regardless of the candidates or amount of money spent.

Obama had incredible personal popularity ratings, yet managed to hurt his party overall. Trump, so far, has had terrible personal ratings, yet his party continues to win at all levels. That says it all to me.

I pointed this out on FB thread and was told that I was missing the point (although no one ever told what I was missing) and that Trump would hurt the Republicans. I offered to bet anyone there that Republicans would lose less seats in the House in 2018 than Democrats lost in 2010, I even offered 75% odds. Not only was my bet not taken, I didn't even receive a response and offered three times. LOL

Yes, we have not been successful at winning the special elections. That being said, we were not supposed to. When you normally lose by 20 points and now you only lose by 5 points, it provides a realistic opportunity (and frankly expectation) to win in purple districts where the past few cycles have been much much closer.

As stated and I will sadly not dispute, the democrats have overall lacked a backbone. Yes we have Clinton, Biden, Sanders, and Warren - but they are pretty much the only ones willing to bark as loud as many many republicans. Now just because you are the loudest it does not make you correct, but that is the way to win elections in the United Sates.

Because of this, I do agree with your assessment that we are unlikely to take a super majority in congress after the '18 election. That's not our objective though; we want to take a super majority from the 2020 election and 2018 will serve as a building block to that. Our goal is to ensure Trump or Pence is a lame duck president after next year and we prevent him from doing our country (or at least our agenda) harm. Then in 2021 we can achieve (by force if we have to but I think there will be some republican votes like there was in the Affordable Care Act) single payer medicare for all health care. That should and will be our top priority.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
