.375 Cal Suppressor anyone?

Philip,
I’d be very interested.
Thanks
Dan
Please PM me your contact info. I am in touch with Thunderbeast now.

I am now circling back to attempting to order some custom .375 Thunderbeast Arms suppressors. It will be the Dominus 7" that I am asking for. The exact specs and price to be determined since this is a custom order.
I will go back through this thread and PM's and create a list. If you are interested please PM me your email so we can get going on this.
PM sent, put me down for one;)

Hi Philip
Good update
Will they do any thread pitch desired as normal?
I think I'm limited to 9/16-24 on my blaser barrel

They should have no problems with that. It should be offered with a hub style mount. In that case you can run most mounts available.

I don't know but if you get the hub mount then it can work.

Hi Philip,
I sent you a pm Saturday with my contact information. Did you get it?

Phillip;
I seldom post on African hunting.com but monitor the great site regularly! I have hunted Namibia regularly over the past 23 years. So much so that I have left 9 rifles and a shotgun with the PH that I hunt with. Years ago, I had a Remington .375 H&H fiited with a Namibian Moose suppressor, and left it in country. The attached photo was taken in the Caprivi Strip, shooting off of sticks at 250-300 yards at Egyptian geese. The suppressed 300 grain bullets did the job! Kevin

Now Thunderbeast Arms tells me they have a new .375 product coming soon that will suit some of us.
Here is the response:
"It's already leaked that we are doing a shorter Magnus that has a
removable brake on the end. We will almost certainly do a run of
these in .375 for the .375 H&H and .375 Raptor guys"

I will keep an eye on this and I also plan to get in touch with my local dealer and ask more questions in the coming months.
Regards,
Philip

Check out the AB raptor Phil.

The front sight on my Sako Safari precludes any suppressor, I suppose?

Do you have one? How is the performance? I have looked at them but I am leery of other brands. This is even more true after my friends Dead Air blew apart on the SA safari.

I do. It’s a fine made device. I’m a big fan of reflex suppressors, even though you can run it without the reflex part too.

If a suppressor blows up, it is almost always from human error. Sounds like a mid thread causing a baffle strike. Dead air is a well thought of suppressor company.

What would your recoil reduction estimate be for a 375H&H?

I’d think a safe estimate 30-40% reduction. This is based on my experience with suppressors and a quite a bit of reading. As the powder weight increases with larger calibers, diversion of that ejecta becomes a substantial amount.

Also, I find that the reduced muzzle blast is significant in the perception of recoil. So a 30% reduction in recoil of a .375 combined with the much quieter report will make for better accuracy, follow up, and hearing the bullet strike.

But, the largest caliber I’ve shot with a suppressor is a .300 win mag. I would compare a suppressed .300 WM to a 6.5 CM. I definitely want to get one for a .375. Especially the newer generation designs that are short and lightweight.

Dead Air is not a good example. They have more QC issues than Texas has cows.

Shooting a 338LM suppressed, I hated it. It was a very loooog heavy push. The only time I have ever been scoped. I did not want a suppressor after that experience.

Now some years have past and have shot suppressed with other rifles. I'm doing my best to have a suppressor for every rifle.

I have 5 years of hearing loss from my Navy helicopter search and rescue and door gunner days. Not to mention hunting and shooting for 40+ years.
My hearing isn't really bad yet (unless you ask my wife) but i'd like to preserve as much as i can.
I'm looking at the blaser R8 with a 300 win mag and 375 H&H - I'm VERY interested in the integral suppressor barrels.

I don't want to rudely sidetrack the thread but in general I'd be very interested to hear how much noise and how much recoil are reduced on a 375 H&H on the cans listed above and/or the Blaser barrels.

ps - I don't mind campfire ribbing about a can as long as they don't cry when i mess with them about their E. Hemmingway, Sean Connery, and Robert Redford look alike custom hats. :)
Now you've quit preachin' and gone to meddling!
