Back Up For Sale Is A Ruger No.1S-C 45-70

This is quite a deal I think. Aside from the Lipsey rifles, all of them have shorter barrels and do not balance as well. Not many of these around.

The only remaining scope is the Freedom 3x9. The Midway site has them for $299 (Free ship, but plus tax for most places). You can find a picture of the reticle on the site as well. Here's the link: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1019637973?pid=874759

    For Sale Three Leupold Scopes

Yes indeed. A decade or two ago it would’ve been perfect for me. I’m about to turn age 69 and I can’t see the reticle well enough anymore. That’s why I put it up for sale. I did think it was best to make sure that was evident in the listing so anyone buying it would know that.

I am the original owner of this chrono and have not used it very much. The protective plastic on the screen has not been removed. Although I have the original manual (somewhere!) I cannot find it and don't know if it will turn up. So, I have printed a manual from the web site. It comes with the...

Down loading the 458WM to 45-70??

I have used the 300 grain Barnes TSX and the 458 loaded with a starting charge of H – 4198. It kicks more than a 270, although much less than standard 458 loads. It was very accurate in my gun. Surprising. But if you missed with a 270, and recoil sensitivity/fear was a part of her shooting...

Lovely wood figure on that one. These can be a lot of fun. The Barnes 300 grain TTSX shoots surprisingly well in a 458.

I'm changing up some scopes and am selling the two Leupold scopes below. They are scopes #1 and #4. The other two scopes are sold. Neither of them have any marks on the glass that I can find. Both have the coin-slot type adjustment turrets. The scopes do not have any issues and function just as...

    Ruger No. 1

The 404 is the holy Grail I think, I have never seen one in person. I got the 450/400 instead, which is probably better in a single shot like that anyway. Nevertheless the 404 would be very tempting and I’m sure quite expensive

    Ruger No. 1

I have owned Ruger no. 1 rifles in many calibers, and currently have them in 6mm Remington, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7x57, 30-06, 300 H&H 375 H&H, 450/400, and 458. I’ve owned the 300, 7x57 and 450/400 for about 15 years. I recently sold a 416 Rigby that I shot for a bit. I found it to be a bit much in...

    New Haven M70 375 H&H For Sale

I suppose that’s possible too. Anyway, I’ve caused enough trouble at the sellers expense, I’ll butt out. A cool rifle regardless, and the possible blend of the New Haven an FN details make it even more interesting as a potential buyer, at least to me.
  37. JeffD

    New Haven M70 375 H&H For Sale

That's really interesting too! Never saw a NH gun with one piece bottom metal! From the factory that is.

    New Haven M70 375 H&H For Sale

Got to be NH made! My apologies. Ive not seen one without the G prefix.
  39. JeffD

    New Haven M70 375 H&H For Sale

I suppose that settles it. But the serial number doesn't jive with a NH gun, and the bolt shroud is like the FN rifles. It would be interesting to know if the trigger is the traditional M70 type or the MOA (enclosed) trigger like the FNs. Also, does it have one piece or two piece bottom metal...

    New Haven M70 375 H&H For Sale

I apologize if I'm incorrect, but I believe that is an FN manufactured rifle, not New Haven. The serial number does not begin with a "G", which all New Haven manufactured M70s do. Not a knock on the rifle at all. Personally I prefer the FN guns.

Winchester 458 Boltaction Rifle In Lisbon

I would suggest that you look into the particulars of having it shipped to the USA, given the comments about the European market. There are dealers/shippers who can help with that, although I cannot give you any names. If you have those details arranged and advertise it for sale here in the US...

  44. JeffD

Winchester 458 Boltaction Rifle In Lisbon

As far as the link to the gun broker auction, that is not a factory rifle. I know it’s a manufacture date in the 1940s, and the 458 was introduced until 1956. That’s a custom gun. Whatever value it has nothing to do with this Rifle. Given that the cartridge was not introduced until 1956, and...

Winchester 458 Boltaction Rifle In Lisbon

Winchester 458 Boltaction Rifle In Lisbon

    Looks like it’s a 1956 rifle.
  47. JeffD

Winchester 458 Boltaction Rifle In Lisbon

A little hard to tell the era this rifle is from based on the pics, but the hole in the bolt handle, rear sight and forend checkering pattern look pre 64. So, def a valuable rifle. I do see some dealers in the us trying to get 8-10k for these, but have no idea if the sell or not.
