Amazing week with my mate on his first African trip. 15 animals in total. The hospitality as always was nothing short of perfect and the food was first class.
Can't recommend Paw print safaris enough.
Huge thanks to Pieter, Jan, Joe and the whole team for making the trip so much fun while...
Legend. Enough said.
I received a hard copy of his book The African Adventures from Pieter Erasmus on my first trip to Africa. Great read and has done nothing to quench my thirst for the dark continent.
Now how to become resident and explore more?!?
Very keen on this. Can you send additional trophy fee prices also?
Being Aussie, rifle is a rifle within reason, can I hire rifles for this hunt? Travelling with them is a pain in the A
How did you go? Supposed to be some crazy fishing there Sept to Nov. heard some lad caught a 50kg vundu there last month on spin gear targeting Tigers. Nice by catch!!
Work has kept me busy this year. Not a lot of play time but, did manage to go fishing in Mozambique on the mighty Zambezi. Main target was Tigers and despite a lot of hook ups only managed to boat 2 myself. Hard to catch but well worth the effort and the heat.
Unbelievable that a constituition is required for what is a basic human right! I ain't religous but, I'm pretty sure it says somewhere in the bible god gave the go ahead to hunt and fish already. Why politicians think they need to approve it is beyond me? Regulate it yep but, come on?!?!
Thanks for the story. Love it
Great hunting partners and companions the lovable old muts. Glad to hear he retired and wasn't lost in the line of duty. My old best mate was fortunate enough to retire also after years of chasing hogs. Saw his days out with my Dad on a steady diet of treats and...
Had a good laugh at this. Thanks
Made me remember some dumbass stuff I done as a kid and wonder how I survived with all my didgets in tact. Got some decent scars as reminders though. Looking back there's no way I would do half the things I did and I'd freak if I found my kids doing it.
Having the same issue gents. Apparently there was a change to the export permit process last October and it has slowed down to the point it is almost stopped. Been following up with shipping and taxidermist weekly and they are doing all they can but it is just a waiting game at this stage.
Finally got to chat with him yesterday bluey. The bucks are holed up with their ladies but not responding to the rattle yet. They saw this guy but couldn't get a decent look at him so went closer to check him out. He was the first to come to the rattle and passed at around 20yards with no shot...
not sure on the full details yet bluey. They have only just started this last couple of days, been still pretty warm here. Went looking for a red last week and only heard the one making a half effort, had a couple of cold nights last few days so should fire up this week, just in time for me to...
been hunting with my young mate Jessie for years and watching him grow into a fine young bowhunter. He absolutely lives for it and has really hit his kick this year. Finally got his first mountain boar a few weeks back on one of our trips and sent me a pic this morning of his first deer with the...
X 2 on the 22-250. All depends on ammo cost really. If you can reload and have a lot to cull then whatever calibre is handy and accurate.
cAustin, kangaroos though more than plentiful are protected as are all Australian native animals. Can't hunt them unless under strict issued permits usually...
Thanks for sharing awesome trip you had. That 375 of Pieter's is a great rifle and must have accounted for some critters in its life. I had a lot of fun shooting it.
Bill's giraffe video was quite the laugh. Not sure how many times Pieter had already watched it when he showed me but he was still laughing at it himself. :)
I used the neck shot with 375 H&H. As said already dropped like he was hit by lightning. Truely one of my favorite animals and cannot wait...
Hopefully with the Fishers and Shooters party success though mild at the recent elections we have some voices of reason in places that matter. It's about time Aussie hunters start to realise the threat from the antis isn't just a noise and needs to be shut down.
Thanks for the quick response guys. Just shows what a great site this is with good people. Will definitely follow up with your suggestions.
Bluey, he ain't too happy about it. Still busting my chops for a crack at a kudu and sable. Wish I could afford it. Ha ha
Will most likely have to make it...
G'day all,
Have a work posting to Moz for the rest of this year. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations regarding must do's while I'm there? Will be 6 weeks on 3 off, but only get Sunday off while there so limited time for doing a lot. Based in the Tete province.
would like to have a fish...
Nothing better than sharing your hobbies with your kids. Just wish one of mine liked fishing too. Taking my son to Africa was the best. He had a ball and constantly talks about going back. He too had no difficulty handling the larger calibers and shot like a seasoned veteran. Just gotta get him...
All the best with this bluey. You should have every right to import a 'legally' hunted animal. Lets hope this issue isn't the start of something bigger for Australian import of foreign game animals. It is so ridiculous and ill informed I am angry about the whole thing. The roll on effects of...
Heard the news today. Just unbelievable. How can they get this so wrong...again! We trust our politicians to be well informed when making decisions but, they consistently fall short. Far too much corruption in policy based on votes. Sadly the 'do-gooders' will be the death of al they are trying...
