been hunting with my young mate Jessie for years and watching him grow into a fine young bowhunter. He absolutely lives for it and has really hit his kick this year. Finally got his first mountain boar a few weeks back on one of our trips and sent me a pic this morning of his first deer with the bow. Stoked for him and thought I should share it with you guys.

Thanks Troy.

That is great to watch someone evolve as a hunter.

good stuff ,mate
bloody dry there
that fallow stag is getting a neck on him , was he with the girls....
are they croaking yet , up your way?
started the other day just north of home , im told by one of the local girl hunters
when I was down Tassie chasing them the last week of the stag season , looked like they were just about to fire then
but me ,mate rekons they are just starting to gather now

pass on my congratulations to your young friend , please
need to get down here to walk up a one of them real deer

not sure on the full details yet bluey. They have only just started this last couple of days, been still pretty warm here. Went looking for a red last week and only heard the one making a half effort, had a couple of cold nights last few days so should fire up this week, just in time for me to leave the country for 6 weeks, LOL.
Will have to get south of the border and chase a 'real' deer one day.

Nice fallow Troy - good on your mate. How's that Wap style kicker on the right antler!

Cheers,
JWB300

Troy,
Congrats to your mate on a nice fallow buck.

Nice buck, congrats to the hunter.

Troy always great to see younger people hunting, congrats to Jessie.

Last month I let my son do his first solo guide on a waterbuck, managed to get a good bull at last light, unfortunately wounded the bull, but eventually found him hiding in a lake under a tree.

Well done Jessie! Thanks for sharing Troy.

Finally got to chat with him yesterday bluey. The bucks are holed up with their ladies but not responding to the rattle yet. They saw this guy but couldn't get a decent look at him so went closer to check him out. He was the first to come to the rattle and passed at around 20yards with no shot before stopping over a fence at 30 yards. Jessie took the shot between the wires and he was down in 40 yards. They found he had a scrape only 10yards from where they set up that they hadn't noticed beforehand hence why he came in. Still not croaking a lot yet, only for about the first half hour of daylight. Been cold last 2 nights so should be better this coming week

thanks for getting back to me on this troy
I will be home for atleast 2 weeks after the weekend , hopefully I can get up north of here to take a looks see ,at a few fallow
hoggie is on top of the list though ,

Good luck mate. Hoggies would be top of my list too, even though I don't have a fallow buck yet. There's something special about them

Do you still have the Browning 1895 and do you want to sell it? I'm might be interested. If so please let me know and do you have any pictures?
