I shot the TAs yesterday and they shot slightly better than the 150gr TTSXs. The TAs shot about .43” and the TTSXs shot .48” @ 100yds.

One my reasons for taking two rifles is that I suffer from being left handed and if I had an issue with one of my rifles, I’d have a backup. Plus these are the rifles that I’ll be practicing with.

Just one word comes to mind…. Ouch!!!

Yeah, all Dakotas are nice rifles. But the model 97s have Remington-style recoil lug. Which means that it’s much thinner and not as beefy as the model 76s. Right now the price is really not that much different than a 76 either. Maybe another $500-$800 for a model 76.

Yeah, unfortunately to find a CRF left handed rifle in a dangerous game caliber may cost a bit more. There’s just not that much supply. I paid $5200 for my Dakota.

I suffer from the same affliction of being left handed. Those type of rifles can be difficult to find. Don’t forget about the Gun Library at Cabela’s. That’s where I found my LH .416 Rem Mag in a Dakota.

So I’m shopping for a scope for my Dakota in 416 Rem. I have been looking at the Zeiss V4 1-4 w/ illuminated MIB, Swarovski Z6 and Z8 (1-6, and 1-8) illuminated reticle, Leupold VHD6 1-6 with Fire Dot. Any recommendations??? Any scopes that I’m missing? Any advice is appreciated!!!

As stated above, the weakest part of the Remington Model 700s action is its extractor. The extractor design is not great, but can be made much better by having a Sako extractor installed. Accuracy from my Model 700s is fantastic. Typically better than Winchesters or Brownings that I’ve owned.

I have a Perazzi MT6 and love it!!!

I have a Benelli M2 and use it for waterfowl. My other shotguns are Browning Citoris. I shoot Brownings well and can’t shoot Berettas for crap. They just don’t feel right. Shotgun shooting is instinctive and the shotgun has to fit you properly.

People can be taught how to be accurate shooting moderate recoil. The 40 S&W has moderate recoil at best IMHO. I like to err on the side of bullet weight and frontal diameter.

I saw that rifle on GB. How is this a Sendero? The Sendero was a heavy barreled aluminum block bedded action. That barrel didn’t seem to have a heavy contour.

I was shooting off of the bench, and then I shot off of sticks. Shooting off of sticks was a little less invasive.
