Would you like a Cigar?

What did you get in the Save Arthur? Did you write up your hunt?
The Save was just a meat hunt Kevin, ended up taking a youngish "lonnng" necked bull.
Not much of a writer myself, I haven't documented this one yet...although he was very testing to say the least.

This past year, Nick Perdomo, went on a marketing campaign, and lots of meet & greets at cigars shops around the country. I think his brand has taken a hit, and he is trying to revitalize it? I'm not big on Perdomo, but there are a couple I really like.
Check out Perdomo's YouTube channel. Regardless if you're a fan of their cigars, the videos are interesting. https://www.youtube.com/c/PerdomoCigars

I met Nick Perdomo at the MIA Int. Airport. I was going to Nicaragua, and he was goin as well, and had a bunch of vendors w him. Nice guy and down to earth, he gave me a handful of cigars when I told him I was a fan

Several years later we met again at a smoke fest in Homestead FL. By that time he was the Mayor of Miami Springs. His cigars quality & flavor went down hill a couple of years later. Not sure if him being away from the business hurt his business or not.
Perdomos are great cigars, but IMO it’s a hit or miss with them. Glad you enjoyed that smoke.
Very cool! I never meet anyone interesting flying...except TSA agents

Happy Labor day weekend. Tgif.

Hot blazes! Hottest Tucson summer on record....eesh! Set a September record today at 109.

I'm going to take my cigars , and go find an iceberg to sit on.

Crowned Heads four kicks sublime Maduro, to start off the weekend. Good stick!

I have been looking forward to this San Christobal Elegancia for a while. Paired with Diplimatico rum

Very nice light-medium premium. Very creamy with the slightest bit of pepper and hay. Perhaps lacking complexity, but a safe one for newbies. I can think of a couple better in this range that I'll stick with, but glad I tried.

The family is doing a pre-1840 Rendezvous this weekend. Wife is keeping the 14- month old asleep. A friend is across the way playing guitar and singing. This event hasn't had this many camps in a decade. I'm enjoying a Carlos Toraño 1916 Cameroon churchill. One of the very first good cigars I ever smoked (after a Carlos Toraño Reserva Selecta which they don't make anymore, dang it).

Had to try some of the Crowned Heads that @Brent in Az has been smoking! 91 rated Headley Grange - Lot of pepper on the 1st inch but settled in and started getting some smooth espresso/earthy tones after that. Good smoke! Got a few more that I'll keep aging a bit more.

Great way to take a break over Labor Day yard work. Just finished re-rocking the fire pit for fall, then off the replace boards on deck and re-stain. Very, very smooth smoke that is quite enjoyable start to finish. Happy Labor Day weekend those of you in USA. And a blessed weekend of relaxing or whatever you are doing for those not.

Oliva Series V torpedo...what else needs to be said? Rich, smooth chocolate and tobacco flavor. May not be the very very best, but you'll never turn one down. Nothing like a 14% stout on a hot summer night

Oliva, perfect for tripping equipment to ND. Figures its gona snow Tuesday and we are headed to ND. My buddy thinks he has to pay me back with these Cohibas. I opened them to put in a boveda pack. Will they keep in the wooden box for about a month do you guys think? John

Humidor storage would be best. A large tupperware container works in a pinch. Just throw in the Boveda pack, and seal the lid.

As above, humidor or a tupperware is best. Or perhaps one of those big boveda ziplock bags and just stick the whole box in there with a couple packs.

That said, I picked up a box whilst in Cuba and they lasted ok for 2 weeks, including travelling around the Island and the flight home.

The Boveda will help, but if they do seem to be drying a bit, you can lightly mist the thin piece of cedar wood they rest on top of the sticks to boost the moisture.

Distilled water, and finely spray the side of the wood not in direct contact with the cigars. Worked well enough as a stop gap measure for me.

Enjoy!
Al.

Very good smoke, and slow burning. Took me over two hours to smoke this cigar. Not spicy at all, mellow in flavor but overall real good.

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
