Work-up to May 2023, SA plains game

Final update. Basically a week away now. Rifle and scope are dialed in. Off sticks at 100 yds. I'm managing 3" groups or so which is a dead animal by all accounts. I'm happy, I'm confident. I've probably put over 100 rds off the sticks of 300WM at this point which is enough to make me confident at that range. I've learned so much about the rifle, ammo, and myself.

I remember 2 years ago when this was just sort of a pipe-dream. Time went on, things came together. Now we are 7 days away. Granted, the clock feels like it has stood still for these last days.

Hopefully my next post will be reporting my success and a good trip over in the reports forum. Thank you to everyone for all the help!
Best wishes ! Keep us posted. We're all going hunting with you you know.

Will do. 2 days away now.

The wait is like being strapped to a lawn chair, watching grass grow, with the paint on your house drying.

Enjoy it hope time flies untill you land here in Joberg.

Good luck, I’m still a few weeks out.

I'm back and to say the experience was amazing is putting it lightly.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
