What cartridge have you thought about the most, but never owned a rifle in it?

The Law in Pennsylvania:
Minimum Age to Purchase / Possess

Subject to certain exceptions, a person under the age of 18 shall not possess or transport a firearm anywhere in the Commonwealth. 18 Pa. Cons. Stat. Ann. § 6110.1(a). Any person who knowingly and intentionally delivers or provides a firearm to a minor commits a felony of the third degree and the firearm is subject to seizure by law enforcement. 18 Pa. Cons. Stat. Ann. § 6110.1(c), (d). Section 6302 also prohibits any person from selling or leasing any deadly weapon or cartridge to any person under 18 years of age. This prohibition does not apply to hunting by minors in accordance with the Game and Wildlife Code, 34 Pa. Cons. Stat. Ann. § 101 et seq.

Thanks for looking that up. So I am not legally allowed to possess a firearm, but my dad is allowed to own a rifle that I use. He owns every rifle that I use and he bought them for my use, so it is legal.

This isn't dangerous game or anything, but I've been gaining interest in the 6.5x284 norma for its long range capabilites of around 1000 yards, but i don't know anyone who has one or got any firsthand info on how they shoot.

All I know is Nosler makes a rifle in 6.5X284 Norma. Those Nosler rifles cost a lot of money though.

I have a friend who rebarreled a rifle to 6.5 -284 but it is a cartridge that although it is very good down range, is not that good for very long. He went back to a 6.5x55, knows his trajectory and has the same sucess. Actually a 6.5x55 or 6.5x57 loaded to modern pressure levels is not that far behind the 6.5-284 and a very good choice.

The gun i was actually looking into was the nosler m48, very expensive but definitely a dream rifle for me. I would go with the 7mm mag, but nosler does not make it in that caliber for whatever reason.

The Law in Pennsylvania is 14 or 16 years old I believe. However, my dad is allowed to buy me guns, which he does. They're his guns, but he bought them for me. Also, thank you for being so kind as to offer me a .375 H&H if I become a PH. That was very kind of you. To become a PH would be wonderful, but I'll settle for just being able to hunt in Africa!

Okay, I'm consider being a PH. Give me the .375 H&H now. LOL, just kidding.. I dream of the day when I get my first .375, I wonder what manufacturer I will get.... Ruger, Winchester, CZ, or another company?. For now I can just dream about what .375 I'll get. I also day-dream of the day that my .375 will slay it's first Cape Buff, may this dream come true soon.

You would have lots of choices , Hollands, Rigbys , WRs, & many many more, in doubles or bolt, cape buff when is walloped with a well placed chest or shoulder shot lumps down like a rabbit ... I took first buff of mine in Tanzania with one shot loaded with a .300 grain Silver tip Winchester in the.375 H&H Weatherby, it was chest cavity shot , it collapsed dead..... Its a feeling that is indescribable. May you experience a great début buff hunt routine . All the Best . The .375 H&H would be in rack ,awaiting you .....

Hope to pursue my dream , but at times I feel I have missed the BUS............ but making an effort to catch !

You would have lots of choices , Hollands, Rigbys , WRs, & many many more, in doubles or bolt, cape buff when is walloped with a well placed chest or shoulder shot lumps down like a rabbit ... I took first buff of mine in Tanzania with one shot loaded with a .300 grain Silver tip Winchester in the.375 H&H Weatherby, it was chest cavity shot , it collapsed dead..... I've owned a couple of 450/400 nitro's, shot quite a few water buffalo with em, and a couple of .500 light nitro doubles, loved shooting them. My .416 Taylor is a grand gun, but love my .375 H&H.

That is what will happen. The 8X57 Mauser was on my list for a while, but then my dad bought me a Husqvarna 8X57 mauser. So, I replaced the 8X57 with the 7X57 Mauser on my wish list. I am still waiting for the right 7x57 Mauser to show up and then I'll snatch it. Then I'll have to come up with something to replace the 7X57 Mauser on my wish list. IT NEVER ENDS.....

I dream the most about a 220 swift or a 257 Roberts. I certainly don't need them but who ever has enough guns. If it was a double rifle it would be the 450/400.
