Ted Nugent

Whether or not JF actually apologized is a matter of wide and varied opinion, some accept what she said others do not. I think her acts in Vietnam amount to treason, others will not think so. Certainly one cannot compare anything Ted has said or done to what JF did over there, in any way. Ted is a patriot,a loud, flamboyant, America loving patriot. JF was a loud America hating traitor in my view. It has nothing to do with whether or not Vietnam was a good idea or not, she went on enemy soil and bad mouthed her country's troops and her country, and in so doing gave aid and comfort to the enemy. That is treason. My opinion only.

I agree with you, +1!

As a Vietnam vet of '68 I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Jane Fonda didn't simply voice her 'protest' of the Vietnam war, she collaborated with enemy forces. In my view that was a treasonous act, plain and simple.

I know I might piss some of you off, but let me tell you, I was a big fan of TN back in the 70's and 80's.. Now, I absolutely despise him. Remember, if you lie with dirty dogs you will catch their fleas. He disgusts me. I respect his right to free speech but he is a Draft Dodger first, and I won't mention the many other indiscretions he has committed throughout his "celebrity" career.. I for one would be put-off by an endorsement/association from him. Just my opinion all. His comments are ignorant, offensive and disgusting. I hate him.

To be honest if I served in the military. I would feel the same way.

My dad didn't have to serve in Vietnam, because his dad died of lung cancer and he was running the farm...which kept his mom and a lot of other people going. But some his friends were drafted into the war...a couple never came back. It definitely affected the way I viewed the war....and future wars.

When people burn the flag and piss on the military (by negative actions) , it really gets me mad. A lot of good people fought and died for this country.

Teds a salesman to me...love or hate him. I think he's a little different.

I may have despised the president at the time of my service but I would never have or never will disrespect or insult the leader of my country. Period. It disgusts me and makes me very angry and sad. I was loyal to my president regardless of how I may have felt personally. I would have sacrificed my life for this country if ordered to do so. No questions asked.
As a former soldier I would still be there to fight if the Army called me back . In a minute. I wouldn't even have to wonder what my decision would be. It would be an honor to go back and prove myself.

It isn't really necessary for you to remind us again and again of your military service, we get it OK? Some serve, some do not, so what? If makes your opinion no more or less valuable or important than anyone else's, period. When I was of draft age, I was classified 1-H due to being deaf in one ear. So what? Was I interested in serving in SE Asia? NO! Would I have if called to do so and was eligible for the draft? Yes! So what?

As to Uncle Ted, I like the guy. I have called this moron, jerkface president of ours a lot worse than what Ted did! No one cares because I am not a public figure, probably a good thing. You seem to be riding rather high on this idea of military service etc. Ted was a "draft dodger"!, You dont know that! You just read that somewhere and are pissed at him so use it here. You can do so if you like. I am not going to condemn him for avoiding likely service in Vietnam, if he did I assume it was legal. I don't assume as you do that he did it illegally, which is what a draft dodger would be. There were all sorts of reasons one could avoid the draft legally. Some took that route, others didn't. So what? Its called choice. So yeah Jane, your post does sort of piss me off. Get off your high, ex-Army, (I served and I'm special) horse and come back to earth. Your opinion is worth the same as everyone else's, period.

I don't want to get off topic regarding TN, so suffice it to say I think he is a poor candidate to represent the Hunting community. If we wish to educate those whom are on the fence regarding hunting/conservation, may I suggest that we limit or at the very least use discretion whilst supporting TN's activities on the public forum of AH? Sorry for pissing anyone off, but I am all about bringing a positive perception to the sport and art of ethical hunting. Feel free to ban me J if you want to. But I have to say what I feel. This TN guy is a not a good representation icon for the art of African hunting. Signing off. Regards.

I think that this is a very admirable attitude that I wish more Americans shared. I know that the current president is not very popular around here, but I think there is no excuse for the sort of comments people make about him. It's completely fine to disagree with him, but when I hear people calling him a Muslim terrorist from Kenya, or saying that they would rather leave America than have Obama be president, it absolutely sickens me. That is why I stopped listening to Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh. They have absolutely NO respect for the president. Love him or hate him, he is still the president and every citizen should stand behind him as the leader of this country. It's like not saying the pledge of allegiance because you don't believe in G-d. It's your right I not believe in G-d, but that does not mean that you can just disrespect the country like this. Sorry for my rant but I just wanted to say that.

saul i aint from your, country but sorry when some elected politician, which is all your "glorious"president is in fact screws/fks up a country same as the self aggrandizing bunch that ran the uk for 13 years, then as they are elected people not demi gods you are entitled to caste your opinions/feelings about them. i believe he swore an oath on becoming president to the people of your country? you lot didnt swear an oath as public citizens to him did you?.................................

Howdy all, Please accept my sincerest apolologies for adding to this thread. It really doesn't matter I deeply regret my comments. Lets call it water under the bridge and go back to the topic of some great hunting stories. So sorry all. Jane crying with regret and sorrow. I have such a deep respect for all my friends here and I hate to know I've upset anyone. Funny thing is I haven't been able to be online for a few weeks. Stupid me.. Let's forget this stuff you guys, again, I am sorry I caused any trouble.
So what about those damn Ice dancers at the Olympics?? I think there's some controversy going on there!!

God Bless everyone!!

I have hunted with Ted a couple of times, also with Carmaine as well as his boy Rocco.

I was surprised at what a "tight" family they were when they hunted together... We need to remember that Ted has spent the better part of 2 decades creating an image... An Image which sells Ted...

And sells him effectively at that... Around a camp fire I found him entertaining and intelligent, especially while sipping a glass of Red Wine and chomping on Lamb Chops!!! (His FAVORITE) !! :)
I found conversations with him easy and on an even playing field, not dominating at all..

To be quite honest I enjoyed his company...

Not everyone will agree with him, I get that but in the balance of everything we do need someone, to just come out and say it the way it is...

As far as all the mystical crap goes, who cares it sells...

My best always.

Is this where you got the urge to emulate your hero?

Not to get off the TN topic, but as I read this it sounds like to me that you are saying everyone, regardless if they believe in the POTUS and his policies, should march lock step and support him just because he is the pres? Correct me if I am wrong, but history has proven when this happens a lot of people wind up dead.

And as far as Fonda goes, I wouldn't waste my piss to put her out if she was on fire.

Well if you mention "the current US president", it can go downhill in a hurry. A lot of Americans have lost faith in the system. Me included, I pay for my own health care insurance now and it's AWEFULLY expensive thanks to Obama.

Enough said, back to the books...complaining never solves these problems.

We all love to hunt. Some folks hate it.

A mere six percent of the human U.S. population hunts
Incredible line, I picked up from an anti hunting site.

Talk about a minority.

Dont you listen to anything besides NPR or MSNBC? You know about all the ACA lies right? Fast and Furious?, IRS scandal?, NSA scandal?, the new FCC scandal?, Benghazi scandal? or are these all just as he calls them, "phoney scandals"? You respect this SOB?! NOT ME!! I'll stand behind him allright, as I am kicking his sorry ass out of the door!! You can have him!! Good enough rant for ya?!?!

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
