It was a great experience all the way around. We will definitely have memories that will last a lifetime.
A good friend of mine asked me what was the most memorable hunt. While they were all special. He was surprised by my answer. He said "tell me it was the lion". My response was "no". "It was my 11 year old son shooting a freaking giraffe in the shoulder with a 6.5CM and watching it hit the ground in 45 seconds with one shot". G and I spent a lot of time in the backyard shooting. He did great (everyone did), it is very rewarding when you see hard work payoff.
Congrats on a great time with your family on safari. Those are some awesome animals to remember it by. Thanks for taking the time to share the story and pictures with us.
Congratulations on your lion and your family safari. I shot a lioness in the Kalahari, and it was an amazing experience too. Thank you for taking us along and sharing your experience.
All lot of people on this site have written some great reports. I always enjoyed reading someone else experience. Just trying to give a little back to the community that I have been fortunate enough to learn from.
Reading a few of the comments about details. I'll share my hack, everytime I go my body has a had time adjusting to the time difference. When I wake up early (3am). I start writing while all the details are fresh in my mind. Even if it is a short list, something that captures the most important things. You have the ability to fill in the rest of the story from that. I do my best to write down something everyday.
Even if you keep the writings for yourself. It will help you recount your experience and emotions that much better years down the road. With our phones today, you can speak into them and they will write everything down.
Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!
Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx
I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
