Soooo you got a new President...

The takeaway from the leaked 05 tax returns is he paid 5 million dollars in regular federal income tax and 2 million in self employed tax. That's in the 5% tax bracket. The rest comes via the Alternative Minimum tax, a tax Trump is vowing to get rid of.

Trump wanting to get rid of a tax that in 2005 would have given him 31 million dollars is not fake news and it's not something that should be taken lightly. Using the office of the President to personally save you tens of millions of dollars each year is not what this office is for. That's the takeaway from just the first two pages.
Seriously? You try paying alternative minimum sometime. In 2015 my effective tax rate was 48 % - that includes payroll, state, and local. Working for 52 cents on the dollar is the primary reason I am now retired.

You are in your own world. Historians have rated Obama the 15th best president in history, After this trainwreck (t RUMP), Obama's ratings will go even higher.
No -any rating by anyone currently alive is irrelevant - good or bad - no matter how many initials behind his name. In a couple of generations we'll know what sort of presidency he had - I suspect a footnote.

15th???
I saw a study by Texas A&M that had him ranked FIFTH best. seems pretty solid to me.

OBAMA RATED 5th BEST PRESIDENT IN OUR HISTORY

From a total of 44 US Presidents: Obama is rated as the 5th best. The A&M's Public Relations Office released this statement "After 8 years in office, Americans have rated President Obama the 5th best President ever."

These are the details according to Texas A&M:

1. Reagan & Lincoln tied for first,

2. Twenty three presidents tied for second,

3. Seventeen other presidents tied for third,

4. Jimmy Carter came in fourth, and

5. Obama came in fifth.

@Brent in Az,

Don't you know by now that the DNC's criteria for impeachment includes any President actually enforcing federal law, delivering on campaign promises, promoting the ideology of America first, and expecting elected officials to be true to their office and constituency ...?
Very true. The Democrats are pathological liars, and hypocrites.

They despise anything that is not sleazy and corrupt.

So now Trump's motive to be President of the United States of America, is so he can save money on taxes. No... to have an inappropriate relationship with Russia!! What next free cell phones? Give me a break. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Ha Ha, that's a good one. You are using t RUMP's math and statistics on this one. All wrong. LOL

Look it up genius. Free telephones stated with Reagan. Back then they were landlines, now they are cell phones.

Trump is making good on his campaign promises.

Trump will build the wall

Trump will take the fight to ISIS.

Trump is rolling back Obamas policy failures

Trump is getting rid of the Obamacare disaster

Trump is cutting taxes and wasteful spending

Trump caused the Dow Jones to hit a historic high of 21,000

Trump is creating jobs, and keeping them in the USA.

Trump has the Democrats running scared.

Trump is the best damn trainwreck I have ever seen.!!!!!!!

I can appreciate that you are obviously an anti-Trump guy.... That explains the fake news post above... AMT is STILL a federal income tax. It just falls under a different bracket. You make it sound as if he didn't actually pay the 38 million... I'm sure it wouldn't matter if he paid 100 million in taxes, you would likely find some exception to it.

As I mentioned earlier in this post without provoking any comment, do you think any of the richest liberals in this country take any less advantage of the tax codes? Where is the outrage there? Why are you not calling out Soros, Gates, and Steyers? As a side note, it is curious how the Clintons entered DC broke and left multi-millionaires and Obama's net worth has risen nearly 500% since 2007... Yet, Trump is the first president since Kennedy to refuse a salary from the office. BTW, Spicer said 2 days ago that he may change his mind and donate the salary to several veteran's charities.

I'm pretty sure the Russians will help Donnie do away with the minimum tax, because if it's one thing Russian leaders love to see, it is wealthy Americans getting a tax break.

A big guy named Sergey stood over me while I filled in my mail-in ballot at home.

Here we are 4 months after the election still wankering around about Trumps taxes! Seriously, ask yourself you guys who go to bed every night with his taxes ruining your sleep. What amount do you think other people should pay? Or is its just Trump that should pay more. He paid a higher percentage than Obama, or your hero socialist Sanders, more than Romney.. he pays a LOT of money in taxes! Ask yourself how would knowing about every dime he makes or pays in taxes will change your life for the better in any tangible way. That's the problem, it wont. You really have to get over this and move on with your lives, the election is over, better luck next time. Get over it, get a grip on reality and stop worrying about what other people make or pay in taxes. Honestly, its insanity. I vehemently disliked Obama but not about his taxes or income, nor for you race baiters out there, about the color of his skin, means nothing to me. I hated his agenda and politics, but I didn't lose my mind over it like some of you guys seem to be doing.

You remember before the election both HRC and the Bamster said, "no way, no Russian interference with our elections, not possible". Then Trump won and holy cow man, look out! The Russians hacked the election so Trump could win! LOL, what a joke. As you point out, filling out your ballot at home like many of us do. How did they mess with that. Wait, I know. Sergey then went to every district ballot counting place in the country and changed all the HRC votes into Trump votes, AHA! That's how they did, those ratfink Rooskies!

I said on page 8 that whatever Trump pays is "within the US tax code and not surprising". Everyone should take whatever tax breaks are legally given to them. Now that doesn't mean I think the tax code doesn't need changing.
