Soooo you got a new President...

The Democrats own the failure of the ACA.

Remember Nancy Pelosi stating that "We have to pass the bill to find out what's in it"

The woman is living proof that Botox causes brain damage.

The Republicans had 8 years to engineer an alternative to the ACA. They tried to repeal it dozens of times, knowing full well that they couldn't. Now that we control Congress, the Republicans still try to fool us with the "Dog & Pony" show.

That has been the biggest reality check that I got out of this election, is how the Republicans did absolutely nothing for 8 years to give lip services to the voters. They seem totally unprepared to pass any type of legistration.

At the end of the day folks, politicians will be politicians. I still have my heels dug in deep that the man sitting in the chair will successfully correct our course or break the da*n rudder trying...

This sort of nonsense is why I do not identify much with the Republican Party.
Sadly, I vote for their hacks most of the time but, it's just primarily because they are least likely to try for disarming the common tax payer.
IMO, the Republican Party is a bunch of sissies (greedy, sneaky, dishonest, embezzling sissies).
Also IMO, the members of the Grand Old Peckerwoods who fuss and fume that Trump isn't suitable to be The USA President, is only proof that they do not want any non-politician in the mix, for fear he will request probes into their stealing, lying, cheating, embezzling and in a few cases, their perverted sexual deviant life styles, every penny of these criminal's plush life styles, paid for with money stolen from us folks who actually work for a living.
Roaches do not want anyone to "flip on the kitchen lights" with one hand, while brandishing a hissing can of bug spray in the other hand.
And regarding The Democrat Party; their burning hatred for The 2nd Amendment and hatred for hunters as well (they even hate bow hunters evidently), puts them so far off into outer space (alien visitors from The Hater Constellation?) that, I find myself nearly speechless at the moment.

a more succinct and accurate evaluation of the problem I have yet to see.

It's sad when even "non-politicians" do not address the problem that is the problem. the problem is not that people don't have medical insurance. The medical insurance problem is not a problem. the problem is that medical services are too expensive. if the government wants to be useful they should do things to make medical service less expensive. If medical services were reasonably priced a potential consumer could decide logically if they wanted to pay directly for a service or enter a pool of consumers, betting that he would use more medical services than the others and thus have others in the pool pay for a portion of his services.
If costs of medical insurance premiums/decrease in benefits is plotted there is a correlation between those costs and the government seeking to "fix" so other aspect of the country. the initial fix was wage controls as a result of the labor shortage due to WWII- employers competing for labor were not allowed to offer higher wages, so they added "benefits" such as medical insurance. Then the judiciary got into the act with "punitive" judgements against doctors, hospitals and pharmaceuticals to punish for some error in treatment or an adverse reaction. This led to doctors purchasing malpractice insurance and as the judgements increased so did the insurance premiums, which were added to the cost of the medical services.
Over the course of history some group of people end up being the scapegoat for the breakdown resulting in the gap between expectations and results. In ancient Rome it was the Christians, in the French & Russian Revolutions it was the royalty, in Nazi Germany it was the Jewish and Gypsies. The way things are going in the US, my guess is that when the gap reaches critical mass, the ones that will receive the blame for the breakdown will be the politicians and the attorneys. Clearly the actions of some have led to the problem were politicians and attorneys, but most of those that did are now long gone, leaving those that followed with an untenable mess.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
