DMV the movie Hatari is one of my all time favorites. Red Buttons played Patches as I recall and his plan to catch the monkeys in the tree with the rocket propelled net was so funny!
Pockets! Not patches. Another great movie is THE MACOMBER AFFAIR based on a Hemingway story, Gregory Peck in the lead. KING SOLOMONS MINES with Stewart Granger, another classic. THE LAST SAFARI, also with Stewart Granger. HATARI is a favorite of mine as well. While not a hunting or safari movie, I really like BLOOD DIAMOND with Leo DiCaprio. Lets not forget SOMETHING OF VALUE based on the classic Ruark book. There was another similar movie made with Victor Mature called SAFARI that's pretty good as well. Have to try to dredge up others, but that's all that comes to mind right off.

Just remembered the movie based on the book about the filming of AFRICAN QUEEN. Called WHITE HUNTER, BLACK HEART. with Clint Eastwood as John Huston. Quite entertaining.

My boy reminded me of another non hunting Africa movie similar in some ways to BLOOD DIAMOND. Its called BEASTS OF NO NATION about child soldiers in West Africa. Excellent movie in all ways.

That's right it was Pockets not Patches!!

I kind of remember that a young Daniel Craig was the antagonist in this movie; although I don't see him listed in the credits. Interesting that he is now just as famous as Morgan Freeman.
I looked it up on IMDB, you are right, he was in it. Sgt Botha.
