Politics

I guess being of that generation eliminates me from having a valid opinion regarding our country's issues- so go ahead and tell me what the answers are.
America has run on principles and rule of Law since the constitution, except for the last two to six years.
For the last 20 years I've been hearing how the constitution is outdated and should be ignored or replaced, or just let it fly according to everyone's own ideas.
If American leaders are now going to do that very thing then maybe it all should be thrown out and start from scratch. No laws no rules, maybe like the movie "The Purge" until some sort of consensus is reached for the next 100 years. The younger generations are bound to have a better idea on how america should be run.
Maybe some starter suggestions:
No proper English just texting shorthand for all communications and documents etc.
All social media no printed materials.
Skateboards only mode of transportation (Can be electric for old people that can't push with a leg)
All housing is open for anybody to come and go or live as needed at no cost.
one free Starbucks daily for everybody.
All children that live to 18 yoa automatically get an 12th grade diploma whether they attended any classes or not.
By 25 yoa they get a BA certificate. Again, no attendance needed.
A PHD is awarded to anybody wining a skateboard competition.
Foreign policy? Who cares what other groups, countries or demographics do.
Oh yes, a weekly distribution of Marijuana for everybody.
This list is from an OLD person so a group of 14 to 30 year old's probably have way better ideas on how to restart a modern America.

The Institute for War, a group of some the finest tactical and operational strategists in the West, is led by my old mentor, Jack Keane. Many of you may have seen him on Fox. Brilliant thoughtful man. If you want an accurate daily assessment of the war as opposed to musings by the keyboard community, these are excellent. Takes a lot of the "well I think" off the table.

Gen. Keane was interviewed today on the Kudlow show (FOX Business). I think I recall correctly that he said that the Russian army was about 10 days from having significant supply problems to the troops in Ukraine. This could be good or bad- Good because it could spell a reduction in Russia's offensive, bad because its leadership could resort to drastic measures. Time will tell.

Very well said.

Trump and Hillary are similar in the sense that people either love or hate them. There is no middle ground and it's tough to get elected and actually lead when 50% of the populous hate you and will go out of their way to cause problems. The country needs a better candidate and I have yet to see one that shows they can lead from the middle.
I believe Nikki Haley is just the person your great country needs. It is not only the time for an intelligent leader who talks sense and can unite the American populace, but one who can also claim the high ground on the world stage. Remember you elect that person for all of us too and you let us all down so badly with Biden, as we are seeing now.

This is excellent, thank you!

From what I've read of her time in the Trump administration (UN ambassador), Haley was not a team player and went off script too many times. Mike Pompeo is a smart guy and has lost a bunch of weight (getting into fighting shape???) and could be a viable candidate. I also wonder about HR McMaster and would like to see him run. Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas is another sharp, young guy with a future. If he does run, his campaign slogan can be "Pick Cotton"

I'm with you there. Not that I don't appreciate the things Trump did especially with regard to the Federal judiciary and energy but I'm much rather have a president that is not in his or her 70s (or 80s).

I guess I can reluctantly admit to being an almost senior citizen as I get senior discounts on coffee at McDonalds. That and I become eligible for Medicare next month.

If we are going to rein in the bureaucracy, we need a younger, more energetic president like a Ted Cruz or Ron DeSantis.
I'll go with Ted Cruz. I've watched some of his videos where he really tears up the commucrats and their lies.

Jeez, that looks like an escapee from the funny farm. Should be in a straight jacket and locked away.

DeSantis got a lot of mileage from the Covid fight in FL. Haley also has an executive office experience. I think DeSantis/Haley would be a good ticket. They have the experience, smarts and also check the woman/minority box as well. Not to mention both are like teenagers compared to Biden and Trump. :ROFLMAO:

Instead, we need to go back to following the Constitution AS WRITTEN. No more of this some idiot's interpretation crap.

Any combination of DeSantis, Haley or Noem works for me. The Republicans have a bit of a bench with good candidates. Look at the names we are throwing out there.

My question is who do the democrats have? The Obama years totally destroyed up and coming democrats. Kamala Harris was suppose to be the one, and we see how that is going. Blinken is the weakest leader I have ever seen. John Kerry? Senator Booker? Warren or Sanders? Beto? They are still throwing Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama out there as possible candidates. I honestly don't see any up and comers that could take out a common sense conservative.

I will caveat this, I would vote for Tulsi before I voted for Romney again or Larry Hogan. Need someone with principles not governing by opinion polls.

I could get behind Gabbard but.... She supports Pro Choice. That is is a line in the sand issue for me.

To my Alaska brethren on here... I am feeling curmudgeonly where politics is concerned. The White House is wretched, all 3 Alaskan legislators in Washington need to be tossed out, my state representative is spineless and I would LOVE to see him gone. Heck, even our mayor needs voted out. Just. Can't. Win. :p

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.

I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).

Very interested.

Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?

I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
