Politics

That’s easy to say when you haven’t paid into the system for forty years. I’d gladly have kept my money and invested it, I would be far ahead of anything I’ll get from my investment in SS. However, to force me to invest in SS for forty years and then say ‘sorry it’s gone because we mismanaged it’ just doesn’t cut it.

10,000% agree
And yet... Brace yourself.
Actions to rectify insolvency rarely align with justice or fairness.

We have 6000 years (give or take) of recorded history. Not 1 instance of recovery from inflating the currency.

Many days ago on this thread we discussed the military quality drones all over the east coast. Foreign powers? Terrorists?

Trump released a statement yesterday that they were sanctioned drone flights by the US gov’t or their agencies. He didn’t state what their mission was/is, nor did he explain why the gov’t didn’t own up to this while the eastern seaboard citizens were losing their minds in November.

It lends credence that they were sniffer drones looking for a chemical/nuclear/biological in my opinion.
I thought they were anti-gravity drones using alien tech? The mother ship hypothesis was so much more exciting.

And sniffer drones? I think this was a major contributing component along with Orson Wells like public hysteria.

One of the tested variants of which I am familiar is an army tilt rotor design for frontline resupply.

The Wells effect

If he does that either CA GOP reps will either votes against anything that comes up for vote or they will all get voted out in 2028. You don’t play political games with disaster relief.

California had elected people that do not seem to be particularly intelligent or trust worthy. I have sympathy for those who have been hurt by this ignorance. Very bad decisions have been made by your politicians. The incompetence of your politicians and policies have kept the infernos from being extinguished. You should not expect tax payers from the rest of the country to fix a problem which is not a natural disaster, but man made.

Everyone on that American airlines flight that crashed into the military helicopter are dead
Another tragedy for the US skating team.

My kids' skating instructor back in the day missed the flight that crashed at Lake Placid as a 15 year old where the US skating team also died.

Many of us in red California don’t feel any particular kinship to Californians on the coast. If Trump wants to put the screws to Newsome and his supporters, it’s not going to hurt many reps from red districts. Maybe in some of the squishy purple districts like in Orange County.

This is tragic, watching the video it looks so preventable. To a layman’s eyes it seems like a tragedy waiting to happen having aircraft flying perpendicular to each other while one is coming in for a landing.
My brother in law flew Blackhawks for many years and their flight facility was connected to a civilian airport. I’m going to ask him if they did anything like that or if the airspace around DC is so congested they had no choice.

Yep. And that can flip the seats. I am in OC btw.

Deja Vu all over again. In 1982 when the jet went into the Potomac, it was a little deeper area.

At least this one is wading depth

that will make recovery much faster.

I'm not throwing any blame until the facts come out, but what is a military helicopter on an annual proficiency night flight, doing inside of highly controlled landing approach airspace?

I know nothing about this subject, other than I fly into DCA many times a year. Seeing helicopters flying in and around the planes coming and going at Reagan is very common.

That units job is moving military VIPs… they are constantly flying in and out of the pentagon picking up and delivering senior officers, senior executive leaders, etc etc…

The Pentagon is a stones throw from Regan National where the American Airlines jet was on approach.

This. The pentagon is right there, maybe 1/2 mile away. There are two military bases within a mile or two and the CIA is probably 3 miles away. Tons of helicopters coming and going from all those places.

Also on standby for emergency evac of members of congress. They were very busy on 911.

Um. Every congressional district in OC is already blue (5 of 6) with the exception of the 40th. The only risk I can see is losing the potential of flipping that POS, Mike Levin’s, seat back to red someday.

You guys are hardly a bastion of California republican politics these days. In my neck of the 48th district, there’s not a ton of sympathy for Los Angeles reaping the results of its own mismanagement. We’re fine with Trump playing hardball. Issa isn’t going to catch flak for it.

An excellent AH member right here! I had a fantastic transaction with Hornedfrogbbq (I was the seller). His communication was first rate, payment was extremely fast, and I would have absolutely no reservations at all dealing with him again. Thank you, F!
Here we are, the last day of the show in Denver, it's been a good show but expecting a quiet day today. I will be back for-sure to do this show next year and maybe also do the one in Sacramento California.

On Monday I will be hitting the road driving from Denver and eventually make it down to Atlanta for the flight home.

its going to be a good year!

Hi Rem280, Saw your post on getting selected for Idaho Elk. Do you have a zone(s) selected? I live in N Idaho, might be able to offer some ideas.

Cheers,

Craig
