Plus the school system is basically government babysitting with all the sporting activities they've come up with. Now the parents have become so lazy they want the schools to teach their kids to pray. Who was it that said takes a village to raise a child? Will I guess that true with all the one parent homes.

I have always thought being a conservative was taking personal responsibility. But here we are asking the government to ban this, limit that etc.,etc.

I agree. What happened to parents raising children? Government responsibility for child rearing is a far left ideology.

It does make me very uncomfortable when people start talking about banning just about anything.

I’m with @WAB , parents need to start stepping up and raising kids not farming lot out to the government and schools.

The far left is going to send their kids to public school. Just seems prudent to do all we can to make sure those schools are more than just indoctrination centers, even for the children of the left.

This helps to restrict the lazy parents just letting social media raise the kids. It’s not the ones who do good parenting who are concerned about it. View it as those who do good parenting going “yay! Now the lazy ones kids will be better too” (potentially).

Read my aforementioned comment comparing alcohol and social media :)

The last two school shootings were at private religious schools, the one in Tennessee was a former student and the most recent was a current student.

But your point is valid.

For those that have complained about “the military industrial complex “ in the past, Sanders agrees with you.

I see a fatal flaw in Bernies speech, in a country of 360 million or so we can’t have 600 million homeless. But then again I may have read it wrong.

I am probably overly sensitive on this subject. When we were in Ukraine adopting our daughter we went to the summer camp for orphans every day to pick up a load of kids and take them on a picnic. The summer camp was an old Soviet indoctrination camp for children. It was chilling to actually see how these camps were set up to separate children from their parents and indoctrinate them in communist ideology. No government should be in the business of indoctrination of children, left, right, or center.

The problem started when the government took away the rights of a parent to discipline their child. I remember my son at 7 years of age telling me that if I spanked him, he would call the police. This was 33 years ago. I remember giving him an extra ass whooping for what he said, and I called the police. The police officer played along with me, and said he was going to take him and lock him up for misbehaving. That little sh*t about sh*t his pants, and guess what? The last time he tried to play that card with me.

Parents must be parents at home and not depend on the schools to discipline their kids. Also, parent must take responsibility for the actions of their kids and accept that their child is not a saint. My wife works at a pre-school, and it's amazing how many parents are shocked when they find out their kids misbehaved, and they claim, "they don't do that or act like that at home". BS!!!!

TV shows, internet, phones, tablets, are all contributors to the decay of children. How many times you'll see a 2-year-old on a stroller with mom's or dad's phone?

How many on here remember the Paddle with the holes the principles used on our asses? Well, here we are, and I believe we turned out ok after all. Oh, and don't get me started on Catholic school discipline. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

@PARA45, you brought cold shivers down my spine bringing up the paddle with the holes in it. Especially when swung by a giant of a man in 7th grade science class! 6’6” 300lb former defensive lineman.

Exactly, and you probably didn't want to go to the principal's office ever again. It took me one visit, and two paddles and I didn't want to visit that office ever again. LOL!!!!
Those principals would be in prison in today's society for cruel punishment.

You and I might have attended the same junior high school…

Coach Alan was 6’6”.. and easily 325+… he had played as a defensive tackle at the University of Alabama… a gentle giant that truly loved teaching kids….

Until it was time for the “thunder stick” to come out of his desk drawer…

You only got paddled by Coach Alan once… no one ever wanted to test him a second time lol
