Politics

General Eisenhower was never a combat commander but he held the allies together to defeat the Axis powers.

General Patton was an aggressive and successful combat commander but not a politician.

Lieutenant General “Chesty” Puller was the most decorated US Marine ever. Aggressive and successful in battle for which over his 37 years of service he received five Navy Crosses, a Distinguished Service Cross, and a Silver Star. Chesty was however never the Commandant of the US Marine Corps.

As the fictional Dirty Harry said, “A mans got to know his limitations.” I believe President Trump had his day. Now it’s time for him to accept his limitations and let someone who will be accepted by a wider range of voters run as the Republican candidate. I however strongly want Trump to stir the pot from the sidelines, to rally the troops, and to provide the aggressive political support as only he can!
The USA is the world leader, period. Sure there needs to be focus upon domestic issues, but the really big game needs to be played more on the world stage. It all takes energy and just as a transmission apportions traction to the front or rear right now it looks like the ratio is all wrong in favour of the domestic side. It must be very hard to focus upon foreign policy when everyone is ankle snapping back home about gender and silliness, and intelligent adults should surely realise that this is the time to elect an intelligent adult who behaves accordingly.
Priorities for my vote, if I had that honour would be:
1. Unify the nation to disempower the silly extremists on either side.
2. Enact domestic policies to strengthen the nation in the short to medium term; you can't build big dreams when you are broke and broken.
3. Enact foreign policy to nip expansionism in the bud with a stick and carrot approach in equal measure. There is nothing more valuable than a soverign world nation that benefits you and is afraid to hurt you, even if they don't like you.

Federal Judge Strikes Down Texas’ Ban on Handgun Carry by Young Adult

FORT WORTH, TX – Today, Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced a victory in Andrews v. McCraw, its Second Amendment lawsuit that challenged a ban on handgun carry by young adults in the State of Texas. The judgment and injunction can be viewed at FPCLaw.org.

“The issue is whether prohibiting law-abiding 18-to-20-year-olds from carrying a handgun in public for self-defense is consistent with this Nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation,” wrote Judge Mark Pittman in his Opinion. “Based on the Second Amendment’s text, as informed by Founding-Era history and tradition, the Court concludes that the Second Amendment protects against this prohibition. Texas’s statutory scheme must therefore be enjoined to the extent that law-abiding 18-to-20-year-olds are prohibited from applying for a license to carry a handgun.”

“Texas cannot point to a single Founding Era law that prohibited 18-to-20-year-olds from carrying a functional firearm for self-defense, because not only did no such law exist, but those individuals are an important reason why we have a Bill of Rights in the first place,” said FPC Senior Attorney for Constitutional Litigation, Cody J. Wisniewski. “The typical age of individuals that went to war with the British for our Independence was between 17 and 20 years old. And young people have just as much a right to keep and bear arms in public as adults over the age of 21. This decision is a significant victory for the rights of young adults in Texas and demonstrates for the rest of the nation that similar bans cannot withstand constitutional challenges grounded in history, as Bruen and Heller require. We look forward to restoring the right to keep and bear arms throughout the United States in the coming months and years.”

In order to allow Texas time to appeal and seek a stay, the trial court stayed the injunction for 30 days. “Though Plaintiffs’ interest in the vindication of their Constitutional rights suffers while the judgment is stayed, the stay is necessary to militate the possible negative effects of relying on the injunction while it is subject to appellate review and possible reversal,” the Court said. As such, young adults in Texas under age 21 should not carry handguns in public under this decision until the injunction takes effect. FPC will continue to provide updates on this case at FPCLaw.org and on social media.

The judgment in Andrews is likely the first final judgment on the merits in favor of Second Amendment rights since the Supreme Court’s decision in NYSRPA v. Bruen this June. The plaintiffs in this case were represented by David H. Thompson, Peter A. Patterson, and William V. Bergstrom of Cooper & Kirk, who are representing FPC and individual gun owners in multiple other legal cases, as well as Texas counsel R. Brent Cooper of Cooper & Scully, P.C.
Forgotten in this win is a 2010 case D'Cruz v. McCraw which sought the same thing. It was brought by the NRA. The case was lost and James D'Cruz, the named plaintiff, was savaged by the Brady Campaign and their then president Paul Helmke. They found a Halloween costume party photo and claimed he would be the next school mass murderer.

Fast forward to today, James D'Cruz is a Harvard Law School grad, has served as a prosecutor in Florida, works for a Dallas law firm, is an Army Reserve JAG officer, and recently got married. Despite all that, the crap the Brady Campaign threw at him as an 18-19 year old has followed him through every job interview except the last.

They can, but won’t. If anyone didn’t know that this would be the eventual outcome of Obama nationalizing the school loan system in 2010, then they didn’t have a clue what’s going on and they don’t understand the people that are in charge of our corrupt government.

Like a drug dealer, student loans will be forgiven bit by bit, whenever needed to gain votes or motivate an ignorant (but highly educated) base. Eventually, it’ll all be paid for and the next generation will waste more money than ever before on worthless diplomas that hang on a wall and say nothing more than “I can sit still for four years, long enough to get most jobs done”. All along thinking they’re the best and brightest because of that little piece of paper on their wall.

Of course in realville, no one ever graduates because the learning never stops.

Saw a photo on FB of someone getting evicted for non payment of rent. They did have money for nails, eyelashes, tattoos and who knows what else is needed to survive.

This week in Tucson, there was a mass shooting during an eviction.
The evictee shot and killed the Constable, the apartment manager, and his neighbor.
He then killed himself.

Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
