Seriously? Do you call that an aluminum foil hat or is made of tin? But unlike Russia, this is a free country (not sure where you are) and you can believe whatever nonsense you wish to. The really pathetic thing about the Russian military is that HIMARS is 1990 technology. I was the second commander the US Army's first MLRS battalion back then. In thirty years the Russians still haven't developed anything even close in capability and no defense against it.

All are fully operational, the supply lines are working, and Russian logistics capability is being degraded hourly. The Russian Army hasn't even seen the really good stuff. I think you should get back over on Telegram and continue to commiserate in that fantasy world. There you can be reassured that everything is going to plan, the Nazis are surrendering by the thousands, and all the HIMARS systems are out of action, sold to the highest bidder, or have no ammunition. Or, you might do some real research and see where the real corruption is - corruption being paid in blood by thousands of young poorly trained and badly led Russian soldiers. Though those casualty rates seem to be the least item of concern to the Motherland.

This was on Russian TV. A family used their dead grandson's death payment to buy a new car. Touching. Rather sick from a Westerner's world view - but truly touching.

In case you missed it Russia was force to retreat in the north and their offensive is culminating as we discuss this in the east. It culminated a month ago in the South. The vaunted Russian Navy can't even dominate the Black Sea over a nation with no Navy. The Russian Air Force can't generate air parity over Ukraine much less air superiority. Putin should be careful before the whole rotten house of cards collapses around him. There is a historical precedent in Russian history - it happened in 1917 under not enti

what a load of rubbish LOL

From the few, absolutely confirmed, on the ground reports I've looked at, there are eery similarities with Putin in this war to what Stalin tried in Finland. Also, after studying Lenin, Stalin, Trotsky and the Bolshevik Revolution, I see similarities in the current stream of propaganda being regurgitated by some of the posters here. What's up is down and what's down is up. I'll say it again, brainwashing is easy, convincing someone they have been is nearly impossible.

246 years ago America told George III to take a flying leap. Now, George's great great great great great great grandson moves to America and proceeds to lambast the country. It's time to revoke the visa and send the henpecked self-righteous little twerp a packing.

Don’t send the little tosser back here

we don’t want him

8 hits with a 9mm. I suppose he kept shooting until the guy was down, which means that the guy was upright until shot 6 or so. Nothing was said about the guy wearing body armor- so I must conclude that most of the hits were superficial until the last few that put him down and killed him. 40 yards or no, seems like a few well aimed shots would have been more effective if less sensational.

I don’t really agree with that, someone thrust from one second minding his own business and the next making a life or death decision on another human being that could shoot back, 10 shots at 40yards in such a stressful situation with 8 hits is marvellous shooting and control. I bet 9/10 police officers would not be capable of producing such a result.

40 yards with a pistol on a moving, shooting target? 8/10 hits? That merits the utmost respect. The guy was not swat or SF and this was not at the gun range. So what if the first shots did not have terminal effect, just hitting the bad guy in such a situation and getting his attention away from the execution of his evil plan is already a huge accomplishment.

The is a photo of a Sauterelle.
It was a WWI French crossbow that would launch grenades across no-man’s land and into enemy trenches.

The PhD three doors up the street from me put out for trash, a twenty foot aluminum ladder because the rope was broken. It's the main problem in the U.S. People with educations are actually pretty inept at anything but what they studied.

As of today, the gas tap of Nordstream 1 is open again and we are at 40% capacity.
If Putin is clever, he'll turn the tap all the way off and split Europe with a wave of his hand!
Many people will say, look, he's loyal to the treaty, at least with us, he's not so bad after all.
And we're not really interested in what he's doing with the Ukraine.
Georgia and Chechnya didn't interest us either (unfortunately true).

I would challenge anyone to place rounds on target from 40 yds..120 ft..under such stressful and life endangering circumstances to best his 80 per cent success. Using a Glock on a moving target within a collateral environment and no innocents were injured…a Damn Miracle. Vertigo BE nailed it. If we are to assume, which I believe that info has not been released, that he was using a 9mm at that range of 40 Yds, doubtful that one or two rounds would have terminated the threat unless a head or spinal column was hit. Keep firing until the threat is no longer, whether I or 17 shots.

Yes, indeed, some peoples are very suspicious of German and Japanese militarism - no one has canceled historical memory. But of course, it is the sovereign right of every nation - what it will spend its national product on.
In the meantime, the Germans are being persuaded to abandon cheap and reliable energy sources, which, first of all, will lead to an increase in the cost of German products and a loss of competitiveness. Who benefits from it - let everyone decide for himself. How bad will it be for Putin? Perhaps more harmful than excommunication from Lego and pornhub, but, I think, not much
Believe me, German militarism no longer exists in this country after two lost world wars. That's why the Americans have such a hard time with the famous 2% here.

And even if we spend the money for it (which is high time), where will we get the soldiers for it?

Conscription via Selective Service. Start with the million plus immigrants Merkel let into your country in 2015..

I’d be interested to know how much trigger time you have involving sending live 9mm rounds into a moving target that’s shooting back at any range let alone 40 yards. 9mm is not the greatest fight ending round in the world.

Its interesting that yesterday was the 53rd anniversary of the first moon landing and no-one, at least that I'm aware of, even mentioned it. I suppose the "Climate Emergency" overshadowed it. Or, perhaps its racist and misogynist to talk about it.

Superficial hits in a gunfight count! They certainly distracted the gunman from his murderous intent until killing shots put and end to it. The good guy‘s shooting, under severe distress, was nothing short of phenomenal. Many trained LEOs would be hard pressed to match it. 40 yards is long range for a handgun when calmly plinking at the range. Under duress?
