I doubt if your in that income level. I think there was 700 people who would have to pay..
Originally, social security benefits were not taxed either. I too have read that the original federal income tax bill only applied to the wealthy. There are never enough "wealthy" incomes, capital gains, etc., to tax to make up for expensive spending/entitlement programs. As it was back in the day, the remaining "middle class" ALWAYS eventually will feel the weight of higher taxation. Remember, "Read my lips, no new taxes!". H.W. Bush subsequently signed the largest tax bill in history at that time. Guess who felt the brunt of the tax increases?Don't neglect history. If you read the bill passed as what is now the federal income tax 100+ years ago, it noted that only a small percentage of people, those "really rich" ones were the one's that would pay the tax. If you read the initial bills on Social Security it was a small percentage and even at that, it had an annual maximum. The "loop-hole" that the politicians use is that a tax is marketed as having "some rich guy" pay for the services to the regular people, but once passed, the actual numbers are left open so that they can be changed without a vote of the people, and we end up with taxes on virtually every dollar anyone earns regardless as to income level. So if someone has a capital gain, even a small one, it will be eligible for taxation.

Well, Slick Bill's election as President hurt America more than we know. Hillary would've been a bad dream instead of Secretary of State and ALMOST President! Thanks H.W.!HW felt the brunt because had he not reneged on his promise of no new taxes (and disavowed the NRA) he would have won a second term resulting in Bill Clinton becoming another unknown as Dukakis and taking Hillary with him - so the tax hikes hurt America far beyond what is generally considered.
A very expensive way to buy votes.
I know of at least one restaurant that doesn't have printed physical menus. They're online. Saves on the constant changing of prices. Micro-hyperinflation, anyone?Every Saturday morning I go grocery shopping. Prices going up every week. The price for a gallon of milk, is fast approaching the price of a gallon of gas.
The one thing about the current administration is.......give them enough rope, and they will hang themselves. Putting the squeeze on middle America is politically dangerous.I know of at least one restaurant that doesn't have printed physical menus. They're online. Saves on the constant changing of prices. Not holding my breath but hoping for a flush out next year. The one thing about the current administration is.......give them enough rope, and they will hang themselves. Putting the squeeze on middle America is politically dangerous.
2022/2024 can't get here soon enough
We need to vote, and hopefully we have better check & balances in place to keep the left from cheating again. Otherwise, we’re f*cked!!!Not holding my breath but hoping for a flush out next year.
They'll find some way to rig it just like they did in 2020. Why do you think they 're letting all these illegals in? Votes, Man, votes. We need to vote, and hopefully we have better check & balances in place to keep the left from cheating again. Otherwise, we’re f*cked!!!
