Canada's largest trading partner is threatening annexation, tariffing goods, and is actively hostile.

Why would Canada not want a closer relationship with our second largest trading partner, which is poised to over take the US in the coming decades as the largest and most influential economy?

Huge market for Canadian resources.
Seems like that's by far the most practical and sensible solution for Canada. It would be objectively good for Canada, and that it further undermines US global influence is just a bonus.
Maybe, maybe not, as we all know Liberalism is a mental disorder. When Canada comes to their senses and elects a conservative then sanity can be restored. Trying to resolve issues in a country that elects bat shit crazy liberals is an effort in futility. This post is not meant to incite angst in my Canadian friends, I have bear and moose hunted in Canada for twenty years and found that those I have had the pleasure to meet are like minded. As a hunter and conservationist I would think we have more in common that not.

Wonder how far back this puts Canada in the queue. The timing of the election couldn't have been worse for Canadian politicians trying to posture.

If Im a 20 year old college student, no matter how much I agree with Glenn Greenwald (380K subscribers on YouTube) sooner or later Im going to get tired of listening to his 58 year old opinion.. I might really dislike the things Charlie Kirk is saying (initially).. but at least I can relate to him...
This actually astounds me. When I was in college, albeit 50 years ago before social media, I cared about two things. Studying and co-eds. The only reason I was even aware of an election in 1976 was because a nursing student I was dating at the time was canvassing for her candidate at dorms. I don't think most guys in my fraternity cared either.

How times change.

Have the released the official reports on that mission? I can’t watch the video tonight not enough signal but have it book marked for the steam off Friday.

Tubby they had a drone feed of the entire battle. A select few that are friendly with the truth have seen it. It was decided that the Navy and specifically the Seals had suffered a lot of losses due to cowboy behavior and piss poor tactics. They couldn’t weather another debacle. And definitely not video of a Seal running from the battle field. And he recieved a Navy Cross. This has been in the rumor mill for years and more truth slowly leaked. Then Marcus finally admitted the Navy asked him to write a book. And gave him the story to write. Not what really happened. The same thing happened on “Roberts Ridge”. An absolute $hii show they spun into heroics.

There is very little in the video that lines up with the movie.

I can’t even explain all the leadership and fundamental tactics that were not followed.

The most egregious lie was that Marcus fought to the end and they were all dead when he left them. Axelson’s body was found miles from the battle area. He lived for another week on the mountain alone. Marcus had 11 mags full of ammo when he ran away and was found by Mohammad Gulab. Gulab, and the Rangers have said he had only minor injures. Not the near death injuries as shown in the movie.

Everyone involved had to sign a military version of an NDA. But it leaked anyway. And has been brewing in the Teams and the Rangers involved.

You cared about 1 more thing than I did..

I dont think I picked up a book until my junior year lol… I spent my last 2 years trying to make up for lost time after spending the first two years just chasing co-eds lol…

I’m gonna watch it too. One thing that always bugged me about the movie was how it portrayed some of the members of the team. Some were wanting to get rid of the shepherds permanently but the one who survived to tell the tale was the voice of reason in that exchange….

Also always seemed weird (in the movie) he was on death’s door when he was in the helicopter after being rescued but the movie really didn’t show why.

Read the book quite some time ago but can’t remember much of it
One issue I had with the movie, vs the book, was about the water bottle in the village. In the book, Luttrell described the bottle that his rescuers offered him was an old, nasty glass bottle with even nastier water in it. In the movie, it was a pristine clean 2 liter plastic water bottle that one of the villagers must have bought at the local 7-11.

I was trying to get out fast in Engineering at Purdue. I tested out of first two years of math, sciences and English after getting my A levels in UK public boarding school. Was taking graduate level classes in my sophomore year in mini computer programming. My advisor actually told me to slow down as I was also an athlete competing and 18 hours a semester was a bit much in his view. Took almost every class self-paced, so it was not an issue. I was a nerd then.

What sport?

Our young adults also "identify" as a member of the rainbow mafia at an alarmingly high rate. It's become a religion with them and radicals will undoubtedly emerge at a higher rate.

Like you, I hope that the conservative youth movement keeps growing and that being grounded morally, culturally, scientifically and economically continues to gain steam and is looked at as the cool thing.

I honestly believe that a great portion of this phenomenon is due to young people simply looking for a place to fit in. It's the new goth or emo, unfortunately there are many predators online that take advantage of these youths.

Factor in piss poor parenting, which is one of our biggest problems that our country faces. These predators have victims ripe for picking. They come of as the parent that these children never had, they act as if they care for and love them. The child now believes that the fit in, that they finally have a place where they belong.

We also have the issue of parents pushing their children into this idealogy.
Weak father's, and white leftist women who see having a trans or gay child as a fashion accessory, like a pair of designer shoes or handbag. When a woman has four kids, two trans, one gay and one lesbian, it's way out of the law of averages, it's grooming and indoctrination.

I think in the near future, we are going to see many people in their 20's and 30's dealing with gay and trans regret.

The mind of an 18 year old mdwest wasn’t wired the same way as the older version is…

I knew I wanted to obtain a commission and serve in the army..

I knew the army didn’t care what degree I held.. it only cared that I had a degree and a decent GPA..

So I looked across all of the degree options the university offered, and selected the one that I believed would have the highest female to male ratio and be relatively easy to complete (easy GPA)…

Which led me to a BS in Educstion lol…

The plan worked magically… every core curriculum class was packed with women.. only a few men present, and inevitably a good portion of the men were gay… so mdwest had found an incredible happy hunting ground at a very young age lol… I had the time of my life for the first few years… and never really had to study much to maintain grades until I became an upperclassmen..

20 years later, with my military service time behind me and finding myself not super happy in law enforcement is when I realized the younger version of me screwed the older version lol… a former army officer and former swat cop with a degree in education isn’t very marketable… so as a much older guy I re-entered the academic world and ran down an MBA and an MS in Strategic Management.. not really because I wanted to, so much as I knew I needed to if I was going to get very far in the career field I actually wanted to pursue (defense)…

Judo. 81 kg. Goal was to make the 1980 Olympic team, fell short by a smidgen, turned out to be a vain effort anyway as no one went due to boycott.
I was never that accomplished as a judo player.. but that was my sport of choice through elementary school and high school.. my mother put me in classes starting at 8 years old and I competed fairly regularly until I was about 20 before moving on to dabbling in other martial arts (toyed with shotokan for a while, taekwondo for a few years, etc) before giving it all up in my mid twenties…

I wanted to be a Marine pilot. Entered the PLC program, went to Quantico during summers to train. Then, Carter reduced military spending and my spot went away. I had not taken any money during that time, so I had a choice. Go to infantry officer's school or bail out. I bailed out.

Think about how much lower the job market expectations are for kids in college today, how much higher student loan debt is, how much less the dollar buys.

I’m not saying this to be antagonistic, your sentiments are common amongst people your age who simply cannot comprehend how much this country has changed for young people; college graduates today have a MUCH steeper hill to climb.

Hence why they are almost universally engaged in politics, because their suffering the consequences of political decisions that were made long before they were born.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
