AH legend
In other words. What all politicians do.
The fact the Biden DOJ is leading an investigation on Foreign Influence and peddling is the definition of Irony.

I rather imagine their military leadership is more non-pulsed by the effect of drone warfare and antitank weapons in Ukraine. I can not imagine being in a landing craft or amphip debarking in two-hundred feet of water approaching a hostile shore under a swarm of drones and barrage of TOW missiles. It would have the high potential of being an absolute bloodbath. It is instructive that Russia did not attempt a landing at Odessa at the start of the war against what was then just the anti-tank missile threat.Does anyone else wonder if China is holding off on Taiwan until they see if Trump gets in or not? Or is it solely because of them watching what’s going on in Ukraine? Or a mixture of both? We’ve already seen this administration fail to deter much of anything
Looks like bribery and illegal campaign contributions on Adams.

Edited after checking numbers. Taiwan has about 1500 Javelins, which are fire and forget, each of which can easily sink or destroy an amphib out to 2500-3000 meters from shore. They have 100 TOW launchers and 1000 missiles being delivered (finally) now. They can kill an amphib out to 4000 meters. Taiwan's drone inventory is speculative, but they obviously have enormous production capability and that seems to be accelerating.
None of this counts US capability.

And, IMO the best way to avoid that is to demonstrate that we will stand by our commitments. As mentioned above we guaranteed Ukraine's safety when they agreed to relinquish their nukes.I think the bottom line here is hopefully this is just avoided. If China were to move on Taiwan, that would definitely shift the world's political landscape on its head really quick.
I'm all for backing our allies but really doing everything to avoid this possibility happening is best. ...
Has Trump said what his stance is on Taiwan? Seems like a huge assumption if he hasn’t stated anything specificAnd, IMO the best way to avoid that is to demonstrate that we will stand by our commitments. As mentioned above we guaranteed Ukraine's safety when they agreed to relinquish their nukes.
China invades Taiwan, we help Taiwan for a couple of years then back out or if Trump is POTUS we do nothing. That is a winning strategy for China.

110% agreeThat’s a fair point. Trump was a strong supporter of Israel when in office and I would expect the same as regards both Israel and Taiwan in a second term. I truly believe that his position on Ukraine is driven by his personal animas toward Zelensky. Trump is truly infantile when it comes to real or
Imagined personal grievances.

So in other words you made a huge assumption. All it would take is a perceived insult from Taiwan as Trump does not make his decisions based on what's good for the country but his feelings at the time. I guess one could say he is a man that is extremely in touch with his feelings.
Wokeness in higher education is not quite paying off.
Bosses are firing Gen Z grads just months after hiring them
Here’s what they say needs to change.fortune.com
My daughter is on the hiring/recruitment committee at her law firm. She was mentioning a year or so ago prospective associates were grumbling about not being taken out to 5 star restaurants during the interview process even though starting salary is $210K.
My biggest problem working with Gen Z is figuring out what they are saying with all the new slang. I guess I could be considered a polyglot and it still annoys me to no end.Ive found Gen Z hard to manage/deal with.. but honestly, as rule Ive found them incredibly better than Gen Y/Millennials..
I dont think we're moving back toward the "greed is good" mindset of Gen X... but most of the Gen Z kids I see these days are a good bit more material than their Gen Y counterparts.. they seem to understand that if they want a 2500 sq foot house in the suburbs, a car thats less than 5 years old, and to be able to go out to eat once a week, that theyre going to have to earn it.. they'll bitch and moan about wages/compensation etc and whether or not things are "fair".. but for the most part the ones we've brought into the work force are willing to show up and make an attempt at doing a hard day of work in exchange for a hard day of pay, etc..
We havent had nearly as much luck with Gen Y.. Ive had a handful that were go getters... but sadly the majority just expect to be given a corner office and a six figure salary just for blessing you with their presence.. and throw temper tantrums when they arent "appreciated" enough..

Yah, we love you too.Consider yourself lucky in dealing with the younger generations; I deal with Baby Boomers on a daily basis and I believe them to be a generation of sociopaths with precious few exceptions.
So in other words you made a huge assumption.
Do you actually think these imbeciles in power now or the possible Harris administration would be better or actually put the good of the country first??
Exactly.. ....My original comment was just pointing out Trumps infantile reaction to any real or
Imagined grievances....
