Going to have to use a football analogy here. I had the privilege to work with three young men over my career. All three of these young men, they all played quarterback and thus were in a key leadership position, had the ability to get everyone on the team to want to play better. Those were amazing football seasons.

I have also had the experience of two seasons where our players did not like each other and in both those seasons it had to do with the young man playing QB being an ass off the field. We were very talented those years but not very good as a team.

Then there was the year where we as a coaching staff chose to play a young man at QB with lesser talent over the physically more capable player because of leadership skills. The better athlete did play but not at QB. We were a much happier team.

Former President Trump is talented but will we be “Team” enough to win?

I already commented on the YouTube clip. Confused that he said Hillary had amazing ideas. Slightly confused how you would pick the most unpopular candidate of the past 2 decades over a blow-hard billionaire. He has some good points about economics.

Just to make sure we are on the same page. I am interested in picking a Republican Presidential Candidate that can get all Republicans going in the same direction. It’s going to take all of us. To use another football analogy. One might enjoy country music on the sound system in the locker room but sometimes you might have to put up with some heavy metal selections from your teammates. Yes, I’ve seen a very talented football team fall apart over the music selection in the locker room. Losing Sucks!

Is it Trump or another candidate? Don’t be too vague.

Trump! Team me!

Seriously I will vote for Trump if he is the Republican Candidate. Or in other words I will vote for the Republican Candidate.

But Trump is not a good team leader. He does get things done, but not as effectively as if he could lead a team rather than direct subordinates.

On the R side, It's Trump, period, unless he dies no one else is close. Some can dream about Haley, but its just a dream she cannot beat Trump. On the D side, that uncertain but either Biden or Newson. You will not know until the convention but I still say its Newson.

President Trump is the favorite for the Republican nomination, but does he have the ability to bring all Republicans in to vote for him? We have people on this forum who will not vote for him but will vote for another Republican Candidate. I would not be surprised that there are many more Republican voters that will do the same. Will the lost of those voters cause the Democrats to retain the White House?

De Santis, Hailey, Ramaswamy, and Christie seem to be the other major candidates. If one of these candidates were to gain the nomination would the supporters of President Trump refuse to vote for another Republican candidate in the presidential election?

I would be interested in what other members of this forum think of non-Trump candidates and how those candidates support a conservative government concept.

There is going to be a time in which President Trump is not going to be a candidate for president. This could be because he gets elected this time and has no me eligibility. It could be because age and health finally catch up with him. It is President Trump’s motor for any age person that impresses me the most about him. He works hard. My first question is then who is next? As Republicans, who have we developed as the next generation of presidential candidates. My next question is whoever is the next generation are they ready to go now?

Not naming a specific candidate right now. I am still evaluating which one gives us the best chance to win in November of 2024. President Trump has great positives and strengths for gaining the Republican presidential nomination but he has weaknesses that hurt him in the general election.

Thanks for chatting with me.

It sucks that this is really going to be the only option.. I would really like to see someone else..

But if Trump is on the ticket, thats where my vote will go..

If my choice is Trump or Newsome or Biden... Theres really only one choice IMO..

It amazes me that in a country with 330M residents.. Roughly 175M over the age of 35 and eligible to run for POTUS (born in the US, not a felon, etc etc).. That this is the absolute best we can do..

Our country is divided like never before, and Brandon has divided us even further. Unfortunately, those of us on the right are divided as well like never before on who will represent our party.

If Trump is the nominee for the Republican party, I believe Brandon or whomever will most likely win, because there will be those who will not vote for him. (For the record, I respect everyone's decision if they do not want to vote for Trump.) Unfortunately, we will not recognize our Nation after another term with Brandon. Look at our Nation after only 3 years, imagine another 5? I can't.

Was down at the US-Mexico border 4 weeks ago today. Incidentally, the largest known illegal influx for one day: 12,000 on that Tuesday.
12,000 when we had been averaging about 8000 per day. Known, that is. another 1400 estimated that were not counted. 12000 obtaining instant free health care (please don't insult us by saying they don't qualify or by quoting a Lib internet article saying the same....PM me and I'll tell you how ALL qualify). Fortunately, most are able bodied young men with few health problems. Anyway.....we will not recover from this invasion. You have to see it for yourself to fully understand the scale of it. The US was a great experiment......but I think the end is in sight. The open border has destabilized much of Central and even South America. The only ironic or laughable aspect of this is that those who voted for it (dems) will see an end to their Social Security, and other things they take for granted......and they will take no blame. There will be no apology. .......hunt while you can, and if you haven't been to Africa yet.....do it!.......FWB

I think that was a very accurate politics 101 lesson. I would add that along with a healthy slice of the independent vote, the republican candidate needs not only full republican support, he needs enthusiastic support. My sense is Trump has a significant enthusiasm problem within the party.

I am quoting this post to emphasize why I am asking this question to all the members of this forum. How close or how far off are the other Repulican candidates‘ positions on dealing with the border issue to President Trump’s position?

Hold on, your opinion is that Trump doesn’t have an enthusiastic base? I’m not an expert, but my money on “Republican enthusiasm” lies with the guy that is polling with 50-60% of part support. That is with 4 other candidates still bottom-feeding leading up to Iowa.

I’m not trying to be a 2016 Hillary supporter, but why would an independent voter go for a Dem this year? I know the country is full of blue-haired morons, but at some point they would need to look out for their own hide.

In 2028 as President Trump’s second term comes to an end, who do you see as the next Republican presidential nominee?

What Republican candidate would you rather see as the nominee that will guarantee the “holy land victory”? I don’t have problems with 1 or maybe 2 of them.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
