As I noted a couple of days ago, Ukraine has really clamped down on news from the front that might have intel value to the Russians. Most of the news with respect to Ukrainian progress is therefore coming from Russian bloggers. They seem to be increasingly distraught.

UA forces have apparently now breached the second main line of defense in the vicinity of Verbove along the southern axis of advance toward the Sea of Azov. It will be interesting to see how the Russians respond. If true, that they have already committed most of their reserves - for instance the VDV has already been committed to Bakhmut, a domino effect of withdrawals could begin.

The UA is racing against time for two reasons. Operationally, the Rasputitsa or mud season (annual fall rains) are only four to six weeks off. That will bring much mechanized maneuver to a halt until the winter freeze. Secondly, they are facing a strategic threat from the neo-isolationist wing of the Republican party led by Trump and apparently now also Vivek Ramaswamy (have to be on message if you want to run for VP).

Artillery placed in the vicinity of the current front line trace would give them fire control of the Russian Main Supply Routes supporting Crimea. HIMARS can't be placed right on the front line, so they need to only push another three or four kilometers to bring the long range artillery into position to begin that interdiction.

Not sure of the validity of this but I heard Ramaswamy is a buddy of Trumps son in law and is in the race only to draw support from DeSantis, I don’t remember where I heard it has anyone else heard anything similar?

I just had a long thing written up but deleted it. In it I questioned Vivek's motives for running and what may be going on behind the scenes. He already said he doesn't want VP but has also gone back and forth on a few things. The way he made an ass of himself in the debate by opening up with an Obama line, saying everyone else is bought and paid for, shooting his hand up like the 2nd grade kissup when asked about supporting Trump is suspect. I think he talks too much and I don't trust him. There is a lot to learn about his past and present.

The nut swinging that I see for a guy who most have only come to know of in the last couple of weeks is concernimg and says a lot about the average voter.

I suppose Pryzogin could have a DNA cloned body double. :A Secret:
When was the last time you believed anything put out by the Rooskies?? LOL

'according to a Russian investigative committee'.

For those that want to make this post about Republican politics instead of media. A better head to head debate comparison is the August 2015 Republican primary debate that included Trump, had a viewership of 24 million compared to the 13 million this week. 45% fewer Republican's have any interest in the current crop of Republican candidates. This number is very telling.

https://money.cnn.com/2015/08/07/media/gop-debate-fox-news-ratings/index.html

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I don't watch any of the debates, but I didn't think registered party affiliation was a requirement for viewing the debates. If that's the case, you can't make that claim (45% fewer Republicans have an interestin the current crop) with any degree of confidence.

I imagine an (in)famous businessman/television star with a habit of insulting his opponents and saying other outlandish things (and who notoriously triggers people to the point of derangement) draws large viewership of fans and foes. People want to see what he will say and do next. I'm no data scientist or sociologist, but I'd wager a sizeable portion of the extra 11 million watching the debate with Trump in attendance were not registered Republicans but rather registered Democrats and the unaffiliated watching out of curiosity/derangement. Trashy reality TV draws more viewers than C-SPAN, and it always will.

I think Prigozhin is dead. But if you want another conspiracy theory;

Putin had his GRU henchmen plant semtex in the plane to hide any evidence of Prigozhin being alive or dead. .
Prigozhin is actually in the basement of the old Lubyanka KGB prison where Putin torchers him for a half hour or more each and every day!

Try to top that with a new conspiracy theory!

I like it! But if you think about it, what else are they going to say? Think they will say, "identity cannot be confirmed"?

That would just further the conspiracies, they want this done and over with. It would need some form of outside confirmation thru testing that was believable. Dont think we should rely on what some Russian "investigation' says.

The problem with conspiracy theories is that they rarely stand up to the surrounding evidence. How did you put it? Oh yes. LOL.

Now this man was brilliant. Have seen a couple of situations where I wish I could have sent for "Lawyers, Guns, and Money."

I dont subscribe to any particular conspiracy theory, but I dont think that lack of actual evidence other than "Russia says so", is enough to definitively declare him dead. He may be, and we may never know for sure.
If he is smart, ( and alive ), he will probably vanish, never to be heard from again. In that case he can be alive, or dead.
Not sure he was stupid enough to get on a plane with other members of the group and go wheels up without looking his plane over pretty close.
Would he be that careless or that sure of himself? Maybe.

Yeah, I guess two of his closest compadres were also on that flight (in theory). I think the whole thing sounds fishy and awfully coincidental with him knowing that Putin MIGHT be out to get him? Or, maybe it was his arrogance that got him killed?

I've been fortunate in my life/career to have been involved with some truly brilliant people, and some others, not so much. However, it has been my experience that those that can't see any one else's point of view and must be right all the time (belittling others at every opportunity with their passive aggressive enlightenment), are those with the smallest brains, and I'm certain, the tiniest d**ks. Either way, they typically end up being associated with the democrat party. Echoing what they hear and surrounding themselves with like minded troglodites. Often wrong but seldom in doubt. But hey, works well for them in the "strength in numbers" game.

I thought you were describing Trump.

I have posted here several times with respect to my distain for Colonel (Ret) Douglas Macgregor. A few days ago Tucker Carlson gave him another quarter hour to spew absolute disinformation that could have been written by Russian state propaganda. Much of it will be incredulous to anyone with experience in the military. He is a bitter, angry man who would rather bring disrepute on his own country and its military than tell the truth. For the last fifteen or twenty years or so, he has made a name for himself in Russia praising their army modernization efforts while denigrating the US military - particularly the army. This segment was especially outrageous in its misinformation.

In spite of contractual access while at Fox to truly informed and experienced senior military minds like GEN (ret) Jack Keane and LTG (ret) Keith Kellogg, Tucker gave this propagandist airtime. He apparently is continuing this charade online to pursue his own narrative for the uninformed.

I had intended to write a detailed response, but Ryan McBeth, who has become a respected analyst with regard to the war, did a better, and frankly fairer job than I would have done. It is worth taking the time to watch.

Was he passed over for inadequacy one to many times? The guy seems to really have an axe to grind and I don’t trust a word he says.

Here comes another control & conquer test by the Dems.

Shove it, commie Joe.

Biden Admin now going after educational programs that involve archery or hunting..

I wonder what this will do to the Outdoors Adventures classes that are pretty prevalent and popular in several TX school systems..

Certainly doesnt do anything to help the preservation of hunting as a sport for future generations.. but.. its also not like we would have ever expected anything out of the Biden Administration to be beneficial to hunters or hunting...
The Federal Government needs to get the hell out of the States business. i.e. Education and public schools.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
