I am thinking we have all the potential candidates come to your place. You can moderate the debate at the bar. The winner would be the last one standing unsupported. I am sure we could get a few to back out of the race because they walked to close to the water or wandered off into the bush with out enough gun. As always in U.S. politics this will be fun and painful.

Just saw that West Point is getting in on the history scrubbing act. Thinking I guess, “Woke be us” while building an ESG score?

Trump won in 2016 as he managed to bring middle ground voters to his side, just enough. Winning the middle is what always must be done. By 2020, Trump had lost much of that. He has only continued to lose the middle and it seems even one time supporters are leaving him more and more. Combine this with the recent disappointing mid-terms and I believe he's done.

So who next? The star at the moment, the one guy who had a fabulous mid-term is Gov. DeSantis from Florida. Again it may be just the moment, but I think it's him and a host of also rans. If I had to bet today, that's where my money would be. And if he wins, I would not be surprised to see Nikki Haley as his running mate.

A potential ticket led by the likes of Hogan, Hutchinson, or Sununu will go nowhere in the primaries. The republican electorate may indeed be growing weary of the antics of Donald Trump (God knows I am), but they still very much want to take on the democrat social and economic agenda. Most importantly, they want to do it effectively. I would be stunned if any of the milk toast variety of candidates will generate any momentum in a primary - this would include Pence. At the moment, I think this a DeSantis race to lose. Would love to see Niki Haley (with whom the center is far more comfortable than Noem) debate Harris.

The press will try to demonize DeSantis. But he was pretty effective in Florida in earning the support of both the middle and Hispanic voting blocks.

I believe that if the Primary were held today, Trump would win with DeSantis second. You have to remember who primary voters are: Hard core conservatives and you have to play to the base, which does not also sit well in the general with voters. Now if you want a killer ticket have Trump move back to NYC and then you could have a Trump/DeSantis ticket.

If that's the case - and I am not convinced - then it's good the primary isn't being held today. I am with others: I think it'll be DeSantis and I for one, as things are now, am hopeful that's the case.

I don't really care who the Republican party's candidate is- what I do know is that is the thieves get another DemonRat elected, the country will not be recognizable by 2029.

If the Ballot harvesting is still allowed to continue, it does not matter who the R is, they can't win.
Several states have changed voting rules so hopefully, it’s not as bad as before!?

Hondo was a cool dude. Someone I would definitely want in my corner. I think his role in the movie was something akin to a color commentator in a football game. Someone that adds a little extra to the main voice.

I read something a couple months ago that was pretty detailed. Democrats have 270 electoral votes already unless a state makes significant changes regarding absentee voting and ballot harvesting. Even with changes in some states, Democrats have worked harder than Republicans and are in better shape now than they were in 2020.

Not saying a Republican can't win but Republican's didn't learn anything from 2020 as evident from the 2022 election. As far as I know, Orange County CA is the only location where Republican's actually organized to work hard at ballot harvesting.

I’m seriously interested in understanding why people feel that Republicans can’t win with the Dems so good at ballot harvesting and other “practices.” Republicans cleaned clock in Florida this past cycle. We’re they better at the shenanigans than the Dems? Or did they have better candidates with better policies?

Exactly.

DeSantis won by almost 20% in Florida. Let me repeat that - by TWENTY PERCENT in Florida. Carried Miami Dade and Palm Beach.

Kemp won by 8% in Georgia.

What could they have in common?

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
