on a lighter note...

Now the debate begins- what kind of rifle will she pose with- I vote a model 70 in .243!

If Taylor Swift starts promoting hunting, she can pose with a pink 6.5CM for all I care!

I’m with @VertigoBE standard transmission will not keep anyone from texting. Any time that you’re not shifting, which could be hours on the interstate, could be spent texting.
I am not endorsing texting wile driving, it’s an extremely dangerous habit.
A standard transmission is more of a thief deterrent since the younger generation have no idea on how to use a clutch.

My past hunt my PH asked me if I could drive a standard transmission if I needed to move his vehicle. I told him that I'd figure it out since everything was backwards.

Stick shift. One of the best kidproofers going. Way back in the dark ages (1940s) when I learned to drive there were no slushbox (automatic) transmissions. It was 3 or more on the floor and no synchromesh. Learned to double clutch as one of the first requirements of getting from one gear to the next without grinding. When I took my driving test to get my license (1956) I had to borrow my aunt's car because a stick was mandatory and we had a slushbox. The driving tester was quite impressed that I was double clutching. I still do to this day with a stick.

You all talking about your light weight punishment in school.

In junior high school my brother and I had a teacher, rumor had it she survived the ice age. She stood a bit over 4 feet tall, maybe weighed about 3 oak leaves + 3 pine needles.

When a student wasnt paying attention she would first get the classroom's attention by slapping her desk with a yard stick. The second time the student was slapped acrossed the hands or shoulders with the yard stick. The third time she would quietly walk around the classroom and out of no where "The Claw", formed using her thumb and first two fingers, was applied to the nerve around the collar bones. There was never a fourth attention getter; once one or two students received "The Claw" no one dared not to pay attention in her class for the rest of the school year.

Have you ever driven a standard?
I do not know what "a standard" is, but I have driven a manual shift car since 17 years old. I only drive automatic if I'm taking my wife's electric car.

And not condoning texting while driving, but I have been young too. It is not impossible to drive a manual shift in a city centre, while calling and having your coffee or a cigarette all at the same time. You just get into a rhythm of swapping stuff from hands and putting them down and picking up again, to be able to shift at the right times. It's a good lesson and practice in anticipation.

Ditto.

Elon Musk posted this today (Jan. 10):

"Cis is a heterophobic word. Shame on anyone who uses it."

J.D. Rucker commented:

"It’s a pejorative that has somehow been embraced by many heterosexuals in the ultimate self-own.

Those who qualify for any of the 57 Heinz varieties of genders and sexual preferences who use the word are essentially invoking a slur. Those who are normal — birth gender, no false fluidity, and heterosexual in nature — who use the word are simply idiots."
Considering the source whose picture is in the dictionary under cis about what you would expect.

Hello, My wife and I hunted with Marius 2 years ago. He fit us into his schedule after a different outfitter "bailed" on us. He was always very good with communications and although we didn't end up meeting him personally, he called us multiple times during our hunt to make sure things were going well. We were very happy with him.

Reach out to the guys at Epic Outdoors.

They will steer you right for landowner tags and outfitters that have them.

I have held a membership with them for years and they are an invaluable resource.

Way better that asking random people on the internet...WAY better

Skydiver386,

Did you ever find your 30-06 CZ550? I own a fairly solid conditioned one, if you wanted to talk.
